Bristol Technical Education Center will hold an Open House on Thursday, March 7 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Current 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students are invited to attend and explore their interests in Bristol Tech’s career and technical programs including Precision Machining, Culinary Arts, Electronics, Automotive, HVAC and Welding. There is a flyer in the Career Center or for more information go to bristol.cttech.org.

SWHS will host a Blood Drive on March 6. Your donation could save up to two lives! Please sign-up by filling out the form posted on the Senior Google classroom, or online on the American Red Cross website. See Mrs. Belval in room 204 with any questions.

The Drug Free Committee is hosting the 6th Annual Volleyball Marathon on March 1 from 6:00 pm - 1:30 am. Get a team of 8-10 players and grab a packet during lunch waves. Get your packets in by this Friday to get your team a spot in this event. There will be food, drinks and raffle prizes.

If you are interested in a career in the medical field and are also looking for a part-time job, Manchester Pediatric Associates has the perfect opportunity for you! They are looking to hire part-time help during weekday afternoons and evenings and occasional weekends. See the flier in the Career Center for more information and how to apply.

Seniors: The Dollars for Scholars portal will close on March 15. While many of you have started applications, a large portion of you have not reached full applicant status. Come to School Counseling or the Career Center if you need help with your application. Don’t forget about the numerous other scholarship opportunities in Naviance. There are a few scholarships due before the end of this month and many more coming up with March deadlines.

The Science Fiction / Fantasy Club will hold its next meeting Thursday, February 21 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm in room 127. Join us to work on your own creative writing.

The SWHS Book Club's next book is Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor. We will meet to discuss on Friday, March 15 at 2:05 pm in room 100. New members are always welcome. See Mrs. Busa if you have any questions.

Art Club will meet this Thursday, February 21 after school in room 7. All are welcome, new and returning members. Come check out what kind of art classes you can sign up for next year.

Juniors and Seniors looking to apply for a Language Honor Society, the deadline has been extended to TODAY, Wednesday, February 20. Please see your language teacher for the forms.

There will be a Capstone assembly for all JUNIORS during 7th period on Thursday, February 21. Students will report to their 7th period class for attendance before proceeding to the auditorium.

Hey Bobcat Foodies! Next week, the Cooking Club will be meeting after school on Thursday, February 28 in room 105. Our menu features French toasts with strawberry sauce, tater tot casserole, sausage gravy and biscuits, cheesecake-stuffed strawberries, chocolate pudding, and more! Bring $5 to Ms. Cliff or Sra. Ruiz as soon as possible to reserve your spot in the kitchen.  

 

 

Athletic News:

Any girls interested in joining Outdoor Track and Field, especially those new to the sport, should attend a short informational meeting on either TODAY, Wednesday, February 20 or Monday, February 25 after school in room 127. See Coach McCullough in 127 if you have questions.

Congratulations to Khalise Harris and Maria Galley who were named to the CCC All-Conference Girls’ Basketball team.

Anyone interested in trying out for softball this year, there will be a meeting Thursday, February 21 after school in room 159. 

Athletic Surveys will be held TODAY, Wednesday, February 20 at 2:10 pm in the Cafe for all boys & girls basketball players, dance team members, cheerleaders and gymnasts. Also any boys & girls indoor track members, wrestlers or swimmers who did not already take the survey are encouraged to attend today as well. Boys hockey players will take this survey on Friday, February 22 at 2:10 pm in the Cafe. The survey only takes 15-20 minutes and student-athletes should bring their Chromebooks or an iPhone to take the survey from a link that will be provided.
