Attention students: The library will be closed TODAY for Junior-Senior panel presentations from 7:25 am to 2:00 pm.  The library will be open after school.  Please plan accordingly. 

All students in Algebra II with Trig CP and Honors who have satisfied the Manchester Community College program requirements, should report to the cafeteria on Wednesday, May 29 at 7:25 am with a fully charged Chromebook and charger to take the Math Accuplacer test.  If you have questions regarding this exam, or your qualification, please talk to either your School Counselor or your Algebra II with Trig teacher.

The Interact Badminton Tournament on Friday night was a huge success.  The Animal Shelter Committee raised $331 for a total of more than $960 going to the local animal shelter.  Congratulations to Ronnak Saxena and Jimmy Slahtosky for winning the tournament.  And one last thank you to Mrs. Harlow, Ms. Andrews, and Mr. Garrish, as well as the custodians for supporting the event.

Student Council will have a meeting for all representatives Thursday, May 23 after school in room 163.  All Student Council reps should plan on attending.  

Last weekend, the Bobcat Robotics Team 177 competed in the Connecticut State Robotics Championships at the Hartford State Armory.  Ranking second moving into the playoffs, the Bobcats sailed through quarter and semi-finals until they faced tight matches against formidable opponents.  In the finals, after losing the first match by one point, they came back to win the second match by one point.  The tie-breaker match was won with last minute scores of a game piece and a remarkably fast habitat climb by this year's drivers, Ethan Bushman and Ethan Cruz. A special congratulations to outgoing Senior Captains, Eric Kruzick and Stefan Erwin for four years of hard work and dedication to the team.  Also congratulations to Controls Sub-team Lead and Technician on the Field, Senior, Sam West in addition to Marketing/Business Sub-team Lead, Senior, Mark Angell. A huge thank you goes out to the team's three teacher mentors, Mr. Savvides, Mr. Smith & Ms. Connelly for their dedication and support throughout the season.  Congratulations to the entire Bobcat Robotics Team for winning the 2019 Connecticut State Championship! 

Come on out and show your spirit by joining the Bobcat Robotics Team for a fundraiser this Wednesday!  Join us at a frozen yogurt place at 1500 Pleasant Valley Road in Manchester on Wednesday, May 22 between 6:00 – 9:00 pm.  Tell the cashier you are support Bobcat Robotics and 20% of the proceeds will be donated to support the team!

Central Connecticut State University will host the National Summer Transportation Institute Program from July 15 to 26. This is a full-day program to stimulate interest in careers in the transportation industry such as highway design, transportation of people and cargo, inter-modal operations, laws, regulations, and safety.  There will also be enrichment activities such as SAT prep, computer training, field trips, and hands-on projects.  A limited number of spaces are available.   To learn more, see the flyer hanging in the Career Center or check out the Enrichment activities through the Colleges tab in Naviance.

The Interact Olympics event for this Friday has been postponed until next fall.  Stay tuned!

Athletic News:

Girls’ Lacrosse defeated NFA 15-2, the program will play Chicopee at home on Thursday.  JV is at 4:15 pm and Varsity will celebrate their seniors and play at 5:30 pm.

On Saturday, Girls Track participated in the JI Invitational.  The 4X800 team of Abby Grohs, Elizabeth Martinez, Cora Brownbill, and Rhianna O'Meara placed 7th with a personal best.  The 4X100 team of Muneeka Munir, Jillian Thibodeau, Candace Walsh, and Amanda Walsh took 6th with a personal best.  Micaela Hanson took 8th in 300 hurdles.  Katelyn Maycomber took 3rd in high jump, and Erin Dunn took 4th in pole vault.  Jillian Thibodeau, Aicha Ly, Abby Weiner, and Andrea Correia all achieved personal bests.  The next meet is the CCC Championships today.
