The Robotics club will have a meeting after school on Thursday, October 4th. This meeting is for students who are interested in joining Bobcat Robotics. Please come to the meeting if you are interested in joining the team. We will start the meeting at 2:10pm in room 12. 

Today’s college visits will be from Maine College of Art, Albertus Magnus College and University of Vermont. Tomorrow the Career Center hosts American University and Goodwin College. Please sign up in Naviance.

Sophomores: “HOBY”…the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Organization is a nationally recognized group dedicated to developing leaders through national conferences and training. Any Sophomore interested in applying to attend the Hugh O’Brien Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar taking place in the Spring are invited to see Mr. León in School Counseling for either an application or more details.

Athletic News:

The Boys Varsity Soccer team traveled to East Catholic and came out with a 4-0 win. Owen Cotton and Jaren Haddock notched their first career varsity goals, and Matt Dion and Anthony Dominguez scored one each as well. Jake Waterhouse and Hunter Pasqualini combined for the shutout. The Bobcats are now 7 and 1 on the season and play their third away game in a row on Thursday vs EO Smith.

Congratulations to the Girls Volleyball team for their clean sweep at home last night vs. Bloomfield. Both the JV and Freshmen teams won 2-0 and Varsity 3-0, led by Kenadie Gonzalez with 21 serve points. The team will travel to East Catholic tomorrow. Good luck to the team, and we hope to see you there cheering on your fellow Bobcats!

All Travel Club students enrolled in the 2019 Italy and Spain Trip and a parent are to meet at the back of the SWHS Media Center on Thursday, October 4th at 7:00pm. If you are unable to attend please see Señora Ruiz in room 227.

If you have an interest in airplanes - flying them or working on them – attend the Young Eagles Rally at Meriden-Markham Airport on Sunday, October 7 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Take a free flight and see what pilots do before, during and after a flight. A flier with more information is hanging in the Career Center.

Athletic News:
On Friday, the Boys Soccer team traveled to Plainville for an inter divisional battle. The Bobcats prevailed with a 1-0 victory. Nick Gattuso scored the lone goal from a pass by Matt Dion. The South Windsor defense of Jared Caroline, Jaren Haddock, Steven Futtner, Cole Cassettari, Chris Allevo, Owen Cotton, Marcus Foote and Kyle Henderson kept the Blue Devils from scoring and Hunter Pasqualini earned the shutout in goal. The Bobcats play East Catholic today in Manchester.

The Varsity Girls Soccer team will play their annual Pink Out game to support Breast Cancer research and recovery on Tuesday. Please consider joining us on the stadium field to help as we raise money for this worthy cause.
