Having trouble in one of your classes? National Honor Society students are here to help! They offer free tutoring in any subject with flexible hours. To request a tutor, go to the NHS website on the Clubs and Activities page and fill out the Google Form. 

Attention Interact Members: Our Thursday meeting is NOT today. We will meet NEXT Thursday, December 12th at 2:05 p.m. in the Media Center Seminar Room. We hope to see you there! Any questions, please see Mrs. Howard in room 134.

If you are interested in the dental field and would like to hear more about what goes on in all areas of a dental office, come to the Career Center on Friday, December 6th at 1:00 p.m. Dr. Norige, a South Windsor dentist, will present to students and talk about the variety of careers available – from being a dentist or hygienist to serving in research and administrative roles. If you plan to attend, please sign up in Naviance or see Mrs. Carty so we can let Dr. Norige know how many students to expect.

Students with college application deadlines of January 1st must submit their academic records request form to the School Counseling office by Monday, December 9th. Remember that forms are due 10 school days before your deadline and with the upcoming winter break - that time is fast approaching!

FCCLA is holding a toy drive to help surrounding communities in need. Please bring in new, unwrapped toys and put them in the boxes in the lobby and cafeteria hallway by Tuesday, December 10th.

The South Windsor High School Sexuality and Gender Alliance will participate in a panel discussion called "Sexuality and Gender: A Community Conversation" TONIGHT at 6:00 p.m. at the South Windsor Public Library.  If you or a family member would like to learn more about or lend support to the LGBTQ community, please join us. Pizza, snacks and beverages will be served.

The next Italian Club meeting will be Monday, December 16th right after school in room 105. We'll be making various pasta dishes, appetizers, salad, garlic bread, and dessert. Space is limited so bring $5 to Mrs. Zaccardelli in room 226 to save a spot.

A representative from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford will visit the Career Center on Thursday, December 5th at 11:45 a.m. Please note – this visit is for students interested in the art program and it is not a general visit from the University of Hartford. The SWHS Book Club will meet Monday, December 2nd at 2:00 p.m. in room 201. We will be discussing our read of The Starless Sea by Erin Morganstern. Everyone is welcome!

FSLA or also known as Future Stem Leaders of America is about getting kids interested in the stem field and helping them think about the different careers this field can offer. We will be creating new projects and tournaments soon and we would love your help. Our classroom code is: eu163cz and we are meeting this Tuesday, December 3rd. Hope to see you there!

Athletic News:

All students interested in Boys’ and Girls’ Indoor Track please meet in the Cafe on Monday, December 2nd from 2:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. for a brief information meeting. Indoor Track will begin on Thursday, December 5th.
