Students, please note: the last day for high school drop in at the Teen Center will be Thursday, June 14. Please plan accordingly.

Attention all future AP Psychology students. Please come to a mandatory summer work meeting after school on Wednesday, June 13 in the Cafeteria. If you have any questions please see Ms. Caless or Ms. Simcik.

Any student taking the AP US History next year should plan to meet on Monday, June 11 in the Seminar Room to pick up materials for Summer Work. If you cannot attend please see Mr. Camire in Room 154.

Attention students: There will be a Travel Club Meeting on Thursday, June 14 at 2:05pm in Room 233. Any students interested in international travel should attend this planning meeting for the Spain-Italy trip for April break of next year. If you are interested but cannot attend this planning meeting please see Sra. Ruiz in Room 233.

The Annual FBLA Basketball 3 on 3 event will be on Thursday, June 14 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the gym. The cost is $5 a person. Prizes will be given out to the first, second, and third place teams. Any questions, or for sign up forms - please see Mrs. Barrett in Room 126. See you there.

All students taking AP Government next year should attend an informational meeting after school on Thursday, June 14 in the Media Center Seminar Room.  Any questions please see Mr. D'Amato. 

Athletic News:
All spring athletes should clean out their lockers and remove personal belongings from their respective team rooms by the close of school this Friday.

The Olympics are coming to South Windsor TONIGHT. Come out to watch Unified Theater's production of the UT Olympics. Admission is free, and the show begins at 6:30pm in the auditorium. Hope to see you there.

Mind's Eye's previously scheduled coffeehouse for tonight is canceled. 

The Coast to Coast College Tour takes place today at the Hartford Marriott Downtown. An informational program with representatives from Dartmouth College, Northwestern University, Princeton University, University of California – Berkeley, and Vanderbilt University will start at 7:00 pm. Register at www.CoastToCoastTour.org. A flyer is in the Career Center.

Attention all students signed up for AP Computer Science-A next year. Please plan to attend the mandatory meeting today after school in the seminar room to get your summer work and take a short pre-test. If you can't attend, please see Mrs. Lang in Room 9 to make arrangements to for another day.

Strategy Club will have its last meeting of the year today after school, in Room 146. All are welcome.

Leadership Greater Hartford is currently accepting applications for their Summer Nexus program. Summer Nexus is a seven day leadership program that assembles motivated and energetic high school students for a crash course in leadership development and community involvement. Participants will broaden their horizons by meeting new people and having new experiences. They will gain new skills to expand their resume as well as help them at home, at school and in job hunting. They will meet community leaders and do community service to help the Hartford region. If you are interested in the Summer Nexus program, see Ms. Lane in Room 6 with questions or for an application.

For those future UConn ECE students who successfully completed their application, good job, but please remember that you must now use your NetId to enroll in your ECE courses prior to June 29. For students looking to enroll in Classical Mythology, the course will not appear inside UConn’s database until the fall. Also, for students who missed the application window, but are still interested in enrolling in the ECE program, there is an add/drop window in the fall, but that comes with an additional fee. Please contact Mr. Wry in Guidance with any questions.  

Reminder… Science Fiction/Fantasy Club will have its last meeting of the year tomorrow in Room 127. Join us for snacks while we watch and discuss Alice in Wonderland.

The Italian Club's last meeting of the year will be tomorrow right after school. We'll be having pizza and playing bocce.  Bring $5 to Mrs. Zaccardelli in Room 226 today if you plan to attend… all are welcome.

-A reminder to the members of the post-season Varsity Boys Volleyball team. Please report to the gym at 2:15pm TODAY to return uniforms and have brief meetings with your coach. Any questions or conflicts contact either Coach Holt or Coach Keith.

Don’t forget…there will be a brief meeting for all students cast in next year's musical Thursday at 2:00pm in the auditorium. Please make sure to bring your contract and fee if you have not already done so. If you have a conflict, please email Ms. Laurain, Mrs. Knapp, and Mrs. White as soon as possible. In the meantime, make sure to join the Google Classroom and sign up for Remind.

Athletic News:
-Caitlin Sze and doubles team Leah Polanksy and Jia Yazon traveled to Yale Tennis Center to compete at the Individual Open. Polansky and Yazon outplayed Wiltons doubles team for a second time and made All State. Sze also made All State team on Sunday by defeating Joel Barlow's top player. Both lines met some tough opponents and lost tough matches in the quarter finals. Way to go girls and make history for 3 players in the same season making All State.

-Congratulations to the Boys Varsity volleyball team for a great season and effort last night in their semifinal match vs. Newington. Also, a big Thank You to all of the fellow Bobcats, families, and friends who both came out last night to cheer on the team and supported the team all season. Congrats again, and best of luck to the seniors.

The Science Fiction/Fantasy Club will have its last meeting of the year this Thursday in Room 127. Join us for snacks while we watch and discuss Alice in Wonderland.

The Fashion Club will be hosting a Tie Dye Party event on Thursday, June 7. All students are invited to attend this fun and creative party with music and food. If you want to attend, please fill out the RSVP form on your grade level Google Classroom by TODAY. All participants must bring a pre-washed T-Shirt or other cotton garment to tie-dye.

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a pilot or exploring any career in aviation, you can check out the Young Eagles Rally on June 9 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm at Meriden-Markham Airport. Anyone between the ages of 8 and 17 can take a free flight and see what pilots do before, during and after a flight. For an informational flyer about how to participate, see Mrs. Carty or the bulletin board in the Career Center.

United Bank South Windsor High School branch is hiring. We are seeking a motivated student who is interested in working in a banking environment. This position will equip you with cash handling skills, customer service, sales, and allow you to work in an environment with professionals who are growing their career in banking. If you would like to learn more, please reach out to Jen Schevola at [email protected]. Application deadline is June 11.

Student Council is hosting their first annual Flag Football Tournament on June 15 at 3:30pm. Sign-ups are during lunch waves. Cost is $10 per person. Teams must be 7-10 players, 3 of which are girls. Top three in the tournament will receive large prizes. The winning team will receive championship t-shirts. Sign up and get ready to have fun!

If you are a “techie” looking for a summer internship, the Town of South Windsor’s Information Technology has an opportunity for you. This paid internship requires an individual who can update and install machines, maintain equipment inventory, and create “how to” documents among other tasks. A flier with information on hours, wages and how to apply is hanging in the Career Center.

Athletic News:
-Congratulations to Cailtin Sze for making All State for girls singles and the doubles team Leah Polansky and Jia Yazon for making it into the 3rd round. Good luck today at Yale.

-The boys’ volleyball team advanced to the semifinals of the Class M state tournament by winning last Thursday. The match will be at Glastonbury High School which is the neutral site, tonight at 6:00pm vs. Newington. Hope you will come out and support your fellow Bobcats.

-Attention all members and managers of the boys volleyball team. The bus to the semifinal match today is at 4:30pm. All players not currently on the roster are invited to take the bus too. Any questions, see Coach Holt

Attention SAT test takers. Doors open tomorrow at 7:15am. Please arrive no later than 7:45am with your printed admission ticket, separate photo ID, #2 pencils, and a calculator. Good luck.

Attention Students: Please note that the Media Center will be closed TODAY from 7:00am -10:30am for testing. Please plan accordingly. 

Seniors: This is a reminder about attendance for the reception. Seniors and their guests must attend five full periods of school. A student who is dismissed from school for reason of illness may not attend Senior Reception unless the student has relevant documentation and prior administrative approval.

Beginning Monday, June 4, seniors can apply for parking passes for the 18-19 school year by submitting all necessary items with the application to the Main Office or Admin 237. Only complete packets will be accepted. The cost for the pass is $100 for the school year, and applications are located in the Main Office.

Yoga Club will meet Monday at 2:15pm in the Chorus Room to practice yoga. All are welcome to come practice yoga with us.

The Italian Club's last meeting of the year will be Thursday, June 7 right after school. We'll be having pizza and playing bocce. If you would like to come, please bring $5 to Mrs. Zaccardelli in Room 226 by Tuesday, June 5. Everyone is welcome to join us.
