Mind's Eye Club will meet after school this Friday, April 27 at 2:00 pm in Room 146.

The University of Harford Summer Business Institute offers high school students the opportunity to earn 3 college credits while experiencing life as a college student.  The selective program runs from July 8 to July 20.  Applications are being accepted now, but admission is on a rolling basis until all spots are full. Attention students needing to complete community service hours... Our Community Resource Coordinator, Mrs. Cindi Yakoubian, is looking for volunteers to help with parking, greeting guests, and helping with direction to the historical displays and activities taking place at the Ellsworth School open house this Saturday, April 28 beginning at 9:30am. Need plans this weekend?? Come by to see the Drama Department’s spring play, Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker this weekend. See fellow students perform a show about finding just the right partner. Friday and Saturday at 7:00pm. Tickets will be sold at lunch and are available at the door. 

Reminder… SADD members attending the field trip to St. Francis Hospital need to return their permission slips as soon as possible to Dr. Bombara in the School Counseling Office.

Attention Juniors: SADD will be sponsoring the Prom Promise again this year. Sign the promise to not drink and drive the entire prom weekend and enter a raffle to win two free tickets to the prom or a refund of the cost of two tickets if you have already purchased your tickets. SADD will be in the Café, all lunch waves on Wednesday and Thursday this week. So, stop by, make the pledge, and sign the Prom Promise Banner. Let’s make this years’ prom Spectacular! 

Attention all future UConn ECE students: The ECE Courses for next year are Latin IV, Environmental Science, Marine Science, AP Literature and Composition, Classical Mythology, Modern Western Traditions and AP Physics 1. ECE is a program where students take UConn classes while at SWHS, and receive college credit good at UConn as well as most every other college in the country. College Credit is only received if you sign up correctly. There will be a mandatory assembly during Late Arrival on Monday, April 30 at 7:45am in the Auditorium. The Application deadline is June 1, and the Enrollment deadline is June 30. Please see Mr. Wry with any questions

Athletic News:
-The boys’ volleyball team ran into a tough Class M opponent last night in Farmington. The JV lost 2-0 and Varsity lost a close one 2-3. The team will travel again tonight to face East Hartford. Good luck to the team, and we hope to see you there supporting your fellow Bobcats.

-On Tuesday, the girls’ track and field team faced Manchester. First place finishes were had by Isabelle Erikson in the 3200, Shannon Anthony in 300 hurdles and high jump, Kavitha Francis in long jump, and Bella Sanchez in triple jump. Strong performances were also had by Katelyn Maycomber and Muneeka Munir. The girls' next meet will be today at E.O. Smith.
