Reminder for students…the Media Center will be closed today during Periods 3 and 4 for testing. Please plan accordingly. 
 
Student Council will meet today at 2:10pm in Room 163. We will discuss Student Council elections for officer positions; anyone interested in joining Student Council is welcome to come. If you cannot attend, please see Ms. Ullinger in the Social Studies office prior to the meeting for an online application.
 
The Strategy Club will meet today after school in Room 146.
  
Athletic News:

-The girls’ tennis team had an outstanding match Monday, defeating E.O. Smith with a score of 7-0. First singles Caitlin Sze had a double bagel, and great performances came from all other singles, Varsha Rathore, Sophia Chin, and Sam Donovan. First doubles Leah Polansky and Jia Yazon, second doubles Kelly Kozon and Rebecca Kenefick, as well as third doubles Payal Shah and Nikitha Kikanamada played amazingly, with the whole team winning all their matches. The team’s overall record is 7-1, having lost a tough match to Glastonbury last Friday. 

-Yesterday, the girls’ tennis team won against Simsbury, 6-1. Winning for in singles matches were Caitlin Sze, Varsha Rathore, Sophia Chin, and Sam Donovan. Varsha, at 2nd singles won with a french fry, while 3rd singles Sophia and 4th singles Sam, both won their matches with double bagels. First doubles Jia Yazon and Leah Polansky had a great win, and second and third doubles were faced with tiebreakers. Rebecca Kenefick and Kelly Kozon were able to win their match, and although Julie Harper and Payal Shah didn’t win, they played strong sets. The team’s overall record is 9-1, and their next match is today against Enfield. 

-Girls’ golf team improve their record to 3 and 3 yesterday with a five-shot victory over St Paul. Meghna Mazumdar led the way for the Bobcats with a 50. Amala Mammayil finished 4th with a 57. 

-Boys’ tennis had another great match, defeating Hall High School 4-3. The match was decided by our strong lineup of singles: Brandon Sze, Ronnak Saxena, Femi Orisamolu and Parker Pacekonis. Match of the Day goes to Parker who won the first 6-1, was down in the second set 2-5, but came back to win the second set in an exciting tiebreak. Way to go Parker. Our next match is Wednesday at home against Enfield/Somers - come and cheer the team onto victory.

-Yesterday, girls track and field won a close meet against Enfield. First place finishers were Micaela Hanson, who won both hurdle events, Shannon Anthony in high jump, Erin Dunn in pole vault, Tiana Barnes in javelin, Kavitha Francis in long jump, and Isabelle Erikson in the 3200.  All three relay teams also placed first. Nice job!  The next Track meet will be the CT Relays Invitational at home this Saturday.

-The boys’ volleyball team won at NFA last with a JV score of 2 to 0 and varsity score of 3 to 0. The team will host Bloomfield tonight with a 4 pm JV start. Hope you will come out to support your fellow Bobcats.

-All Spring athletes are being asked to take a 35 question survey that will be used to help us continue to make improvements in our athletic programs here at South Windsor High School. Your coaches are aware of this request and will adjust practice times accordingly. All athletes of each spring sport must bring their personal Chromebooks to take this survey after school at 2:10pm on the following designated days:
