Seniors – the application portal for South Windsor Dollars for Scholars will open on Monday, January 21. Start your application early! To create a profile and apply for these scholarships, go to www.southwindsor.dollarsforscholars.org and click on the tab that says Students and Parents. Read the information on that screen VERY carefully before creating your profile and starting your application. You will have until March 15 to complete your application. The process is lengthy, but well worth it, so start early and get it done. Stop into School Counseling and the Career Center for help along the way.

The deadline has passed for the large group of Hartford Foundation scholarships. However, there are several other individual scholarships to pursue. Two, in particular, that are for South Windsor students only are the Joyce S. Picard Scholarship for students pursuing majors in science, medicine, nursing or a health-related area and the Julie Veilleux Memorial Scholarship for graduating female students who show strong leadership and academic achievement, but are more reserved in social interaction. Both scholarships are in the $1,000 - $2,000 range and are due by February 15. If you think you qualify, go to the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving site and search for them today. You can also find them listed in the scholarship database in Naviance.
