Mind's Eye is hosting another Coffee House this Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. It will be an open mic, so come enjoy music, poetry, and other writing. Snacks will be provided. Please bring a one dollar donation.

SWHS will host a Blood Drive on Wednesday, March 6. Your donation could save up to two lives! Please sign-up by filling out the form posted on the Senior Google classroom, or online on the American Red Cross website. See Mrs. Belval in room 204 with any questions.

Students interested in applying for Boys State and Girls State should see Dr. LaRochelle in the School Counseling Office.

There will be a Student Council meeting in Room 163 after school this Thursday, March 7. We will be planning for Trivia Night. All representatives should attend.

Student Council is hosting the 2nd Annual Trivia Night on March 15 at 6:30 pm! Sign up with teams up to 5 during your lunch waves. Team registration costs $10 total. 1st place will win a $200 gift card to Sakura, 2nd place will win a $100 gift card to Friendly's and 3rd place will win a $50 gift card to Dairy Queen! Come sign up for the fun!

Bobcat Robotics would like to thank all of the students, parents, community members and sponsors that helped make our Pasta Dinner event a huge success! Wish us luck as we head to Waterbury for our first competition of the season on Friday!

Game of Tiaras rehearsals this week are Thursday and Friday. Plan accordingly for rides.

The Science Fiction / Fantasy club meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, March 11. Join us to watch and discuss Edge of Tomorrow in room 127 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm.

Are you looking for an interesting or productive way to spend some of your summer time? A representative from Summer Discovery and Discovery Internships will visit the Career Center on Wednesday, March 6 during lunch waves to talk with students about a variety of options. Sign up in Naviance to attend and learn more.

The New England Institute of Technology will visit on Thursday, March 7 during period 2. This visit will take place in the Alt Ed building and is open to any student wanting to learn more about any of their associate or bachelor degree programs. Please sign up in Naviance and see your counselor or Mrs. Carty for a pass.

Seniors – you probably know that the deadline for Dollars for Scholars is quickly coming up on March 15, but did you know that there are also many other scholarships for you to consider? Many more are also due in the next couple of weeks and you may be eligible. Scholarships are available for students pursuing a career in journalism, UConn ECE students, previous patients of CCMC, students planning to attend New England area colleges – and many more listed in Naviance. 

Athletic News:

Any SWHS student-athlete wishing to participate in our final NLI signing/Athlete Recognition Day on March 11, should notify Athletic Director, Dave Sytulek of this intent to reserve your spot. The celebration will take place in the Library Media Center Seminar Room at 8:00 am. The deadline to participate in this recognition day is Thursday, March 7 at the close of school.
