Next week, September 25-29 is National Ally Week.  The South Windsor Gay-Straight Alliance would like to encourage you to stand as an ally for those in our school and community who might not feel like they have a safe space.  Allies can stand beside those in the LGBTQ community, but an ally can be anyone who stands with someone who feels alone or left out.  To help kick off the week, please join us at our celebration of Allies in Room 148 on Monday, September 25th!  Rainbow ribbons will be available for sale during lunch periods -- please wear your ribbon to let those in our community know that you are a safe place for anyone in need.  Want to be bold in making a statement declaring your alliance?  Take a picture or video of your group or department's show of support and share it on the morning news!  We thank you so much for your support, and we look forward to celebrating Ally Week with you!

A reminder to students attending the Providence College visit at 12:30 today - this will take place in the Media Center Seminar Room instead of the Career Center. For any students curious about fall open houses, stop into the Career Center.  Many of them are advertised on posters throughout the room.

Seniors, if you were not able to make it to the College Essay Workshops yesterday afternoon, you can still see your school counselor or Mrs. Carty in the Career Center. Stop in or make an appointment for some help.  The Career Center library also has helpful books about writing college essays that you may use or sign out.
