The CT Science Center offers two opportunities for teenagers to explore scientific concepts and careers and to serve an advisory role. Teen Science Cafés are free events where teens discuss cutting-edge science and technology with local scientists and engineers, try hands-on activities, and socialize. Topics covered will include water quality, computer science, astronomy, and exercise science. The Teen Advisory Council will be a group of teen leaders that work closely with Science Center staff throughout the school year, serving as representatives of young people and a sounding board for ideas to develop high school programming. Additionally, the Council will take on specific projects, such as planning and promoting teen events, working with staff on new social media efforts, and engaging in targeted community outreach and advocacy. The council application will close on October 15. For information on either of these programs, visit the CT Science Center website, check out the information posted in the Career Center or email [email protected].

Monday’s college visits to the Career Center will be from Hofstra University and Bentley University. If you have already signed up to attend, please set yourself a reminder. If you have not signed up yet, but are interested in these schools please sign up in Naviance! Representatives will be here every day next week, so keep checking the complete list in Naviance.
