The Science Fiction/Fantasy Club will meet TODAY, Thursday, May 16 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm in room 127.  Join us to work on your own creative writing.

Interact is hosting a Badminton Tournament on Friday, May 17 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm in the gym.  It’s $12 per team of two.  All the money will go towards purchasing supplies for Our Companions Animal Rescue in Manchester.  Sign-ups will be open in the cafeteria through all lunch waves.

Mrs. Belval’s Allied Health Class is hosting a Hat Drive!  All hats are being donated to cancer patients at CT Children’s Medical Center!  Hats must be brand new and have the tags still attached. The event is running until May 27.  Please bring the hats to Mrs. Belval’s room, 204 in the science hallway.

The Town of South Windsor’s Collector of Revenue office is looking for a part-time tax assistant on a seasonal basis.  The position is primarily for June to August, but may extend to other tax collection times throughout the year.  Students with strong customer service and math skills are encouraged to apply.  Preference will be given to current sophomores and juniors of working age, but seniors who intend to stay local upon graduation may also apply.  Information regarding payment, hours and how to apply can be found on a flyer in the Career Center. 

For grade 10 and 11 who have, or requested a SWHS UConn ECE Course for next year, please remember that the Parent Consent Application must be uploaded to UConn’s ECE website prior to June 7, please contact School Counseling with any questions.

Interact is hosting an Olympics event on Friday, May 24 from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm in the gym.  Teams of 4-6 members will compete in handball, giant tennis, minute-to-win-it games, Jeopardy, and Singo.  The cost is $10 per person and will include food.  All proceeds benefit the American Heart Association.  Sign- ups are in Mrs. Howard's room, 134.  Forms are due by May 17.

Athletic News:

The Boys Tennis Team had another shutout beating Manchester with a score of 7-0. Congratulations to singles players Ronnak Saxena, Jack Perry, Rahul Mahesh and Dan Kotaiit and Doubles Teams of Sam Kim & Donny Sauer, Jason Rickenbacher & Jonathan Huot, and Andris Reba & Dan Zhu. Match of the Day goes to #3 Singles Player Rahul Mahesh who won in a third set tiebreak 13-11.  Rahul's opponent had match point but Rahul did not give up and with great determination won the match!  The Bobcats next match will be against a tough Avon team - Come out and cheer on the team!

Girls had a fantastic match against Manchester yesterday, continuing their undefeated season winning 7-0.  Heather Kim returned to 4th singles winning both sets 6-0, and doubles bagels were also made by Caitlin Sze, Sophia Chin, Leah Polansky and Jia Yazon.  Tomorrow the girls face Longmeadow, but come support the team at their final home match against East Catholic on Friday!
