The Sophomore Class of 2022 is selling maroon and gold bracelets for $6.00 TODAY during all lunch waves.

Seniors: There will be a college scholarship assembly on Monday, December 16th at 7:45 a.m. in the Auditorium during Late Arrival. School Counselors will explain the scholarship process, and how to access the applications. Please consider attending.

The next Italian Club meeting will be Monday, December 16th right after school in room 105. We'll be making various pasta dishes, appetizers, salad, garlic bread, and dessert. Space is limited so bring $5 to Mrs. Zaccardelli in room 226 to save a spot.  

If you are considering Emmanuel College, come to the Career Center and meet with a current student who can answer your questions and tell you about attending the college. Mary Kate Harper is a South Windsor High School graduate who is now a senior at Emmanuel, and she will be here on Tuesday, December 17th at 10:00 a.m. hoping to share her experiences with anyone interested.

Hey Bobcat Foodies, come join us on Wednesday, December 18th at 2:05 p.m. in room 105 as we share some holiday favorites to warm our spirits like hot chocolate, cranberry punch, white chocolate peppermint cookies, cookies and cream blossoms, holiday white chocolate trash snack mix, raspberry and chocolate thumbprint cookies, broccoli cheddar cheese soup and hot chicken pesto and honey ham and cheese paninis. Please bring $5 to Sra. Ruiz in room 233 by Monday, December 16th. Hurry, spaces are limited and fill up quickly.

There is a fiber drive being held through December! Please bring in any old socks, shirts, or clothing with holes in them that can no longer be worn, and drop them off in the box outside the cafeteria or office. This is a great way to recycle fibers and help the environment.

Having trouble in one of your classes? National Honor Society students are here to help! They offer free tutoring in any subject with flexible hours. To request a tutor, go to the NHS website on the Clubs and Activities page and fill out the Google Form. 

Attention Seniors who speak another language at home- If you would like to test for the Seal of Biliteracy, please see Mrs. Stoj in office 227A for more information by Thursday, January 2nd. 

Scholarship season is underway! There are a number of opportunities, but students are encouraged to check out the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Scholarship program. The application portal for their largest group of scholarships is now open until Wednesday, January 15th. Fill out one application to be considered for over 70 scholarships. You can find the link in Naviance. Other nationwide scholarships to consider are the GE Reagan Foundation and the Ron Brown Scholarships Program. All of these programs can be found in Naviance. See Mrs. Carty if you need help finding the links.

What if you could help others by eating pizza? Well now you can. Come support FCCLA by going to a local pizza restaurant in Evergreen Walk on Tuesday, January 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All proceeds will support local charities and community service projects.

Conard High School in West Hartford will host a gap year fair featuring both gap year programs and summer opportunities. The event takes place on Thursday, January 9th from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. To pre-register, go to USAGapYearFairs.org/fairs. A flyer about the event is hanging in the Career Center.

Juniors who are thinking ahead to college - the Coolidge Scholarship is now open for application. This full-ride scholarship is a highly competitive program for students who have achieved academic excellence, have an interest in public policy, and have an appreciation for the values championed by President Calvin Coolidge. Information and a link to the website can be found in the Scholarship List in Naviance, or students may to go www.coolidgescholars.org. The application deadline is January 16th.  

Athletic News:
