Did you know that just one pint of blood can save up to three lives? Be a lifesaver and sign up to donate blood at the school blood drive on Wednesday, March 11th! Interested students over 17 can sign up through the google form posted in your grade’s Google Classroom.

TODAY is the Interact whole club meeting for the month of March. Please come join us at 2:05 p.m. in the Seminar Room to hear about new events and sign up. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Howard in room 134.

Konichiwa! Ever try traditional Japanese candy? Besides learning Japanese and watching anime, we will also try candy directly from Japan. The Japanese Club is meeting TODAY, Thursday, March 5th in room 230.

The Italian Club will hold its next meeting Monday, March 9th in room 105. We will be making pizza, appetizers, salad, and dessert. Please bring $5 to Mrs. Zaccardelli in room 226 by Friday, March 6th to save your spot. Space is limited.

The Science Fiction/Fantasy club will hold its next meeting on Monday, March 9th after school in room 127. Join us to watch and discuss The Princess Bride. New and returning members are welcome.

In its last league meet of the year, South Windsor's math team placed second to Avon by seven points, finishing the season 2nd place overall in the 26-team Capitol Area Math League. Scoring a perfect 18 points for the Bobcats were Aryan Kalia, Michael Ngo, Yunfei Zheng, and Pranav Ramesh. Jaideep Naik and Keshav Ramesh also had great meets with 17 and 15 points. Next up for the team is the state meet on April 1st, where they will challenge for the Medium School championship.

If you are interested in purchasing a t-shirt to support Deaf Awareness and Deaf Culture, please see Miss Eddy in room 146 on or before Monday, March 16th. You don't have to be taking American Sign Language to buy a shirt. Children's sizes are also available for your siblings, relatives or friends who are interested in American Sign Language. T-shirts are $10, they will have SWHS/South Windsor CT printed on the sleeve. Miss Eddy can share with you the link so that you can see the design.

Attention Sophomores and Juniors: The CATS club is receiving applications for the 2020-21 school year. If you are interested in an opportunity to work closely with your peers, lead, and mentor new students, please consider applying. Applications can be picked up in the main office and should be dropped off outside of room 143. All applications are due Friday, March 8. Please see Mrs. Frasier, Mrs. Landry, or Mr. Warnock with any questions.

Freshmen still have time to apply to the CHET Advance Scholarship. There are two types of awards. One is a random drawing – you only need 10 minutes and a report card to apply. The other is a longer application involving a civic engagement assignment. An informational flyer is in the Career Center and the application window closes March 12th.
