The Science Fiction/Fantasy club will meet TODAY, Monday, March 9th in room 127. Join us to watch and discuss The Princess Bride. New and returning members are welcome.

The Italian Club will meet TODAY, Monday, March 9th after school in room 105. We'll be making pizza, appetizers, salad, and dessert. 

This is the final week to buy Junior Prom tickets! Tables are going fast so don't miss your chance. More information is on the Class of 2021 Google Classroom and on the school website.

Did you know that just one pint of blood can save up to three lives? Be a lifesaver and sign up to donate blood at the school blood drive on Wednesday, March 11th! Interested students over 17 can sign up through the google form posted in your grade’s Google Classroom.

The Library will be closed all day on Wednesday, March 11th for the blood drive. Please plan accordingly. 

The Connecticut Office of Higher Education will host CareerConn 2020 on Wednesday, March 19th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford. Explore Careers in Nursing, Healthcare, Automotive, Culinary Arts, Computers, Hairdressing, Cosmetology, Manufacturing, Construction and more. For more information, visit CareerConn.org.

Binghamton University will have a representative in the Career Center on Wednesday, March 11th at 11:45 a.m. if any students would like to learn more about admissions and attending. Whether you are a senior who has applied and are trying to make an enrollment decision or a junior just starting your college search, this could be a very helpful visit!

It Takes One is a program that raises awareness about making safe decisions around choices related to alcohol, drugs, and drinking and driving. We invite Juniors, Seniors and parents to join us for a powerful evening which includes a keynote speaker and breakout sessions. This program will run on April 2nd from 6:00 - 9:15 p.m. in the South Windsor High School Auditorium. The cost for this program is $10 for all participants and includes a t-shirt and dinner. The RSVP link is on our webpage. Please complete one RSVP for each person who plans on attending. Permission slips and payment can be handed in to Mrs. Howard in room 134 or Ms. Flachsbart in room 129. The deadline to register is March 18th.

Athletic News:

This weekend at the Gymnastics State Open, South Windsor High School’s Erin Dunn placed 2nd in the balance beam and 5th in the floor routine, while teammate Audrey Manning placed 7th in the floor routine. This qualifies both gymnasts for the New England Championship this upcoming weekend.

There will be a Boys’ Varsity Tennis Preseason Meeting on Wednesday, March 11th at 2:10 p.m. in room 111.

There will be a Boys’ Volleyball Informational Meeting on Wednesday, March 11th at 2:10 p.m. in the SWHS Café for any boys interested in trying out for the team.
