We will begin accepting parking pass applications from all Juniors and Seniors on Friday, March 13th. The passes will cost $35 and will be valid for the remainder of the 2019 - 2020 school year. No application can be accepted without all required documents. Passes will be assigned on a first come first served basis. No applications will be accepted prior to Friday.

Attention 9th, 10th and 11th graders: If you are interested in learning more about the Early Dismissal proposal for the high school for next year, please consider stopping by the Seminar Room on Monday, March 16th to meet directly with Mr. Rizzuto. This option is available for all students with a study hall in their schedule. Please check in with your study hall teacher first for attendance, have your planner signed, and then proceed to the Seminar Room to learn more about the proposal.

This is the final week to buy Junior Prom tickets! Tables are going fast so don't miss your chance. More information is on the Class of 2021 Google Classroom and on the school website.

It is already March... are you wondering where the school year has gone? Are you looking for an activity to get involved in to round out your experiences? Do you want to help others? Then pick up an application in the Counseling Office for the Jump Start Tutoring program today! The 3rd and final session starts March 26th and runs thru April 30th. Each Thursday you will help a middle school student study for tests and finish their homework. Pick up your applications today and return by Monday, March 23rd!

Interact Club is holding a toiletry drive for the needy population in Hartford county. We are currently collecting travel/hotel-sized shampoos, conditioners, toothbrushes and other items. Please look at our flyers around school to see what you could donate. Donation boxes will be in the lobby, outside the cafeteria, in Mrs. Howard's room (134) and in the math hallway. We will be collecting for the next 2 weeks. See Mrs. Howard with any questions.

The Aurora Foundation for Women and Girls in Greater Hartford seeks nominations for its Young Philanthropist of the Year Award, given annually to a young woman who is a current freshman, sophomore or junior and doing great things in her community. Students may ask an adult to nominate themselves or may self-nominate. Nomination forms are available in the Career Center and must be filled out and returned to the Aurora Foundation by April 30th.

For all students trying to complete their Dollars for Scholars applications before the Sunday night deadline, the local representative for the scholarship program will be available in the Career Center starting at 11:00 a.m. Friday morning. If you are having any issues with your application, want to verify its status, or have any questions, you may stop in at any time – no appointment needed to see her. Take advantage of this great opportunity to make sure your application is included in our biggest scholarship opportunity of the year.

FCCLA members competed on March 6th at a state conference. Delanie Halstead took Gold in Entrepreneurship, Samantha Belekewicz took Gold in the Job Interview, Daniel Hegi took Silver in the Job Interview, Aditi Malpure took Bronze in Cake Decorating, and Shani Kibara and Alex Smyrak took Bronze in Baking and Pastry. An honorable mention goes out to Kashvi Bokria for her gorgeous cake decor as well.

The recruiter from the Connecticut Army National Guard will be in the Career Center TODAY at noon. She will offer a brief presentation and be available to speak to students who have questions about enlisting. If you are interested in attending, please check in with your 6th period teacher before coming to the Career Center.

Thank you to all of the students who volunteered and donated at the Blood Drive yesterday, March 11th!! We collected 46 productive pints of blood, which can save up to 138 lives!! Students who missed this blood drive or were unable to donate should look for other blood drives in the community to participate in!
