Bobcats Robotics Team 177 competed in their first event of the season at the Waterbury District Event this past weekend. A strong scouting team, hard-working pit crew, talented drive team, and a large student and family contingent from the stands all helped pull the team to victory. As Waterbury District Event Winners, the team was proud to bring home a coveted “blue banner” to add to the team’s growing collection. Sidarth Masarur and Sivani Arvapalli represented the team as semi-finalists for the Dean’s List Award from Team 177. The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Dean’s List Award celebrates outstanding student leaders whose passion for and effectiveness at attaining FIRST ideals is exemplary. Sivani was selected as one of two finalists from the Waterbury event to move on to compete at the New England District Championships in April. Congratulations Sivani, Sidharth and the entire team for an outstanding start to the season.
