We are excited to share that the SW Teen Center will reopen to SWHS students TODAY, Thursday, October 1st! We will be open for high school students on Mondays and Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. You can walk across the street to the teen center to unwind, have a snack and catch up on school work. This will be based on cohorts so we can follow the same protocol as the high school. Space is limited so you will have to call or email to reserve a spot. [email protected] or 860-648-5050.

An East Hartford warehouse and shipping company is looking for part-time help. Interested students can find information hanging in the Career Center or on our blog. The company has a training program available for workers who show potential for advanced opportunities.

The National Honor Society is currently inviting eligible candidates to complete the selection process. If you are a junior or senior who has a cumulative, weighted GPA of at least 3.67, you should receive a letter in the mail this week notifying you of your candidacy. If you do not receive a letter but think you qualify, please see Mrs. Farrell in the Math Office. All eligible students should also attend the meeting on Thursday, October 8th: 2:30-3:00 p.m. for students with last names A-K, and 3:00-3:30 p.m. with last names L-Z. Details on the selection process will be provided at that time.

ATHLETIC NEWS:
The South Windsor/East Catholic/Glastonbury Girls’ Co-Op Ice Hockey coaching staff will conduct a prospective player Zoom Meeting on Wednesday, October 7th at 7:00 p.m. This is a mandatory informational meeting for all freshman and other prospective student-athletes who were not on the team last year, but are interested in playing Girls’ Ice Hockey in 2020-21. Returning players should not attend this meeting. In order to register for this meeting, interested student-athletes should contact Coach Usseglio at [email protected]. If anyone cannot make the meeting, they should email Coach Usseglio.
