The following colleges or universities will host virtual visits for SWHS students this week: Marist College, Stonehill College, Clarkson University, Johnson & Wales University, Utica College, Keene State College, Gettysburg College. All visits are listed in Naviance and students need to register to receive the link for the visit. It is best to enter these meetings with your camera on and your microphone muted. Please e-mail Mrs. Carty in the Career Center if you have any questions.

Delta Theta Sigma sorority will host a four-day virtual fair to help students explore HBCUs and other college options and talk about how to prepare for the application process. Topics such as whether to stay in state, go to a community college first, and whether to spend more for your dream school or choose a school that makes financial sense will be covered. These questions and more will be explored during this Virtual College Fair Experience. The series takes place October 5-8. Registration is FREE. The National Honor Society is currently inviting eligible candidates to complete the selection process. If you are a junior or senior who has a cumulative, weighted GPA of at least 3.67, you should receive a letter in the mail this week notifying you of your candidacy. If you do not receive a letter but think you qualify, please see Mrs. Farrell in the Math Office. All eligible students should also attend the meeting on Thursday, October 8th: 2:30-3:00 p.m. for students with last names A-K, and 3:00-3:30 p.m. with last names L-Z. Details on the selection process will be provided at that time.

We will have our first Italian Club meeting on Tuesday, October 13th from 2:30-3:30 p.m. It will be an organizational meeting and be held via google meet. We will be discussing what we'd like to do for the rest of the meetings this year as well as officers for the club. If you still have not joined our Google Classroom, please do so as soon as possible. All are welcome and the classroom code is: kokgmma 

Attention Sophomores: “HOBY”, the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Organization is a nationally recognized group dedicated to developing leaders through national conferences and training.  Any Sophomore interested in applying to attend the Hugh O’Brien Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar taking place in the spring are invited to reach out to Mrs. Carty in the Career Center for either an application or more details.

ATHLETIC NEWS:
The South Windsor/East Catholic/Glastonbury Girls’ Co-Op Ice Hockey coaching staff will conduct a prospective player Zoom Meeting on Wednesday, October 7th at 7:00 p.m. This is a mandatory informational meeting for all freshman and other prospective student-athletes who were not on the team last year, but are interested in playing Girls’ Ice Hockey in 2020-21. Returning players should not attend this meeting. In order to register for this meeting, interested student-athletes should contact Coach Usseglio at [email protected]. If anyone cannot make the meeting, they should email Coach Usseglio.
