The Freshmen Class of 2024 is having a fundraiser at a local frozen yogurt place at The Plaza at Buckland Hills TODAY, February 18th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Take a selfie when you are there and we will post you in our showcase! Five SWHS students have received recognition from the 2021 NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing for their computing-related goals and for their demonstrated outstanding aptitude and interest in STEM, especially computer science and information technology. Congratulations to Aditi Malpure and Tanishka Dalavi for being recognized as Connecticut Honorable Mentions, Abbie Mathew and Mayee Mavillapalli for being recognized as Connecticut Rising Stars, and Sivani Arvapalli for being the 2021 Connecticut Winner.

The South Windsor Patriotic Commission has announced their annual essay contest for students of South Windsor. High school students are asked to write an essay on “What it means to me to be an American” in 500 words or less. All entries must be received by Monday, March 1. Winners will receive a gift card - first place $100.00, second place $50 and third place $25. Please see your Social Studies teacher or Mrs. Slogesky for the contest flyer and application.
