SCHOOL NEWS:

The Class of 2025 is hosting a Gingerbread House Competition in the SWHS Cafeteria on December 1st. Competition is open to all grades and staff members and the registration form is in your class’s Google Classroom. The fee is $15 per team. Fee and registration is due November 17th. 

Attention Seniors: Reduce your senior expenses by participating in the Gift Card Fundraiser! All information has been posted in Google Classroom as well as on the Senior Class Website. All orders and payments must be turned into Mrs. McCool (in the library) by Tuesday, November 28th at 2:15. See Mrs. McCool or Ms. Andrews with any questions. 

ATHLETICS:

Have you ever wanted to try gymnastics? Make sure to register and come join our SWHS gymnastics team this winter season! All levels of experience are welcome, no experience whatsoever necessary. Coach is happy to train any and all athletes with a positive, supportive attitude and a good work ethic. Come boost your confidence and strength while learning a new sport in a fun, positive and safe environment! You will have the definite opportunity to compete and show off all your new skills while being involved in your school and community! This season, one day per week, we will be working out with a professional trainer at LIFE Fitness in Ellington. Our preseason & parent meeting will take place at 4pm during the last hour of our first practice on Friday, December 1st from 2:45pm to 5:00pm at Tri-Town Gymnastics in Tolland. One way transportation from SWHS after school to Tri-Town is provided. CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:  

The Environmental Club will meet next Monday, November 20th from 2:10 - 3:10 in Room 206. Help us make a positive change in the environment.  Here's the Environmental Club fact of the week: A new study published in Nature estimates theEarth has 3.04 trillion trees. The research says 15.3 billion trees are chopped down every year. It also estimates that 46% of the world's trees have been cleared over the past 12,000 years. Come to our meeting on Monday in Room 206 to learn more. New members are always welcome. See Mrs. Eitel with any questions.

South Windsor for the Local Kids is selling Flames for Hope during lunch waves from November 13 thru the 17th. Flames are $1 each and will be hung up during the dance marathon in the Spring. Each flame is an entry to win a gift card to a local coffee/donut shop.
