SCHOOL NEWS:
The 9th Grade Class is selling “Class of 2027” T-Shirts now thru Monday, February 12th. Short and long sleeve shirts are available. We will wear them on spirit days. The T-shirts will be delivered to Mrs. Barrett in Annex Room 12. There will be an announcement when they come in. Look on Instagram and the high school homepage for the store post. This week's tip from the Writing Center: When revising an essay, always be on the lookout for redundancy. Ask yourself, “what did I say here? Does it add new and valuable insight towards my overall message?” This will challenge you to include more profound ideas, as well as ensure that your writing is highly focused! For more help on your writing, stop by the Writing Center. We are open in Room 136 Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2-3pm. Appointments are available on our website or by drop-in.
CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:
The next Italian Club Meeting is on Wednesday, February 7th right after school in Annex Room 35. We'll be celebrating Valentine's Day, watching a movie, and having snacks. There is no cost for this meeting and all are welcome!
Unified Theater’s first meeting is after school on Thursday, February 8th. Join us in Room 144 for snacks, games and an opportunity to meet new people and learn more about this awesome club.
There will be a mandatory meeting for the Travel Club for all students and at least 1 parent/guardian Tuesday, February 6th at 6:00 PM in the South Windsor High School Cafeteria. Please contact Señora Ruiz if you are not able to attend.
ATHLETICS:
Spring sports registration is now open. Registration deadline is March 5th. Registration consists of 3 parts - completing the online portion, submitting the physician statement and submitting the pay to play participation fee to the SWHS Main Office. Payment can also be made by cash, check or through www.myschoolbucks.com for a small fee. All three must be completed before March 5th to be eligible for tryouts. Late registrations are not guaranteed to be processed in time for tryouts and may result in sitting out for one day of tryouts.
