February is Black History Month. Today, Rho Kappa, the National Social Studies Honor Society honors: 
Phillis Wheatley. Phillis Wheatley was a slave in Boston when she became the first published black poet in America in 1767.  She was purchased in 1761 by John and Susannah Wheatley, who saw that she learned English literature, Latin, and Greek, and was considered a prodigy among the people of Boston, thanks to her sophisticated verse and lively personality.

If you are considering a career in a STEM related field and would like to learn more about past accomplishments of women, then you should consider joining the new club, Women in Technology. The first meeting will be after school today in Room 9.

The Japanese Club will meet tomorrow in Room 230.

The Italian Club will have its next meeting Tuesday, February 27 in Room 226. We will be having pizza and doing some other activities. If you would like to participate, please bring $5 to Mrs. Zaccardelli by Friday, February 23. There is limited space and spots will be filled on a first come first served basis.

Attention seniors. IMPORTANT GRADUATION INFORMATION: If you have not yet done so, you must sign up for your cap and gown for graduation. Please see Mrs. Mazzonna or Ms. Andrews for information.  

The Strategy Club meets today in Room 146. All past and present members are invited to come to the meeting and be in the yearbook photo.
