February is Black History Month. Today, Rho Kappa, the National Social Studies Honor Society honors: Hank Aaron. Hank Aaron was a major league baseball player who hit 755 home runs during his career, making him America’s all-time home run leader for three decades, and earning him the nickname “Hammerin’ Hank.” He surpassed Babe Ruth, who had 714 home runs, and played in a record 24 All-Star games. He was elected to the baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.

The next meeting of Fashion Club will be on Thursday, March 1 after school in Room 7 until 3:00pm. We will work on new projects and planning upcoming events.

Reminder for all Unity Club Members… we will have our cultural food meeting on Monday after school in the Career Center. Please bring any food items you would like to share with the club for this meeting. Hope to see you all there. 

The Cooking Club will meet next Wednesday, February 28 to enjoy a chocolate-themed menu and take our yearbook photo! Please bring $5 to Sra. Ruiz no later than Monday, February 26 to reserve your spot and see her in Room 233 if you have any questions.

Yoga Club will meet Monday at 2:15pm in the Chorus Room to practice yoga. We will also be taking our yearbook photo and discussing the “Relieve the Stress Fest”. Contact Ms. Lane if you have any questions.

Come to the local burger restaurant on Tolland Turnpike in Manchester near the BJ's Plaza on Monday, February 26 from 5:00pm – 9:00pm to support the Bobcat Robotics team. Our robotics team will receive 10% of the proceeds. Please mention Bobcat Robotics when ordering. We hope to see you there.

Are you a junior looking for a part time job? A local medical office is looking for a high school student from the Class of 2019 to work 6-10 hours during the school week with increasing hours for the summer. Candidates should be motivated workers with attention to detail and are expected to be able to work in a professional setting. Do you like basketball? Or winning prizes? How about having fun? Interact Club is sponsoring a basketball tournament on March 29 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Entry is $10 per player and all proceeds go to hurricane relief for Puerto Rico. Pick up your form outside Room 134. Forms and money are due March 5. Questions? Athletic News:
The Boys and Girls track Team will hold an end of season celebration Monday at 2:00pm in Room 157. Please bring your uniforms.
