March is Women’s History Month. Today we honor: Susan B. Anthony. In 1856, Susan B. Anthony began working as an agent for the American Anti-Slavery Society. There, she promoted civil rights up until the end of the Civil War. After the war ended she shifted gears and began working with Elizabeth Stanton on women’s rights and their right to vote. In 1886, they both began writing a weekly publication in the paper called “The Revolution”. This publication expressed to people that there were inequalities among women. Although it was 14 years after she died that the 19th Amendment was created, it was due to Anthony’s efforts that women are now seen as equal to men.

Prom ticket sales will be online this year and will be available to students for purchase March 26 through April 6. Tickets are $80 each. Please visit the Junior Class Google Classroom to logon to the ticket leap site to purchase tickets. Students will not only be purchasing tickets, but will also be selecting their table for prom. Tables are limited to ten students per table. Prior to purchase, students will need to read and sign off on an event waiver located on the Ticket Leap site. If students plan on bringing a guest from outside of South Windsor High School, they will need to complete a prom guest form and get administrative approval from both schools prior to purchasing tickets…. so plan ahead.
