In 1962, her work allowed for a successful space flight and resulted in a major turning point in the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union. Johnson was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama in 2015. Her accomplishments will be remembered for generations to come, and her memory will be honored as we look up to her for inspiration in our lives and our nation’s future.

Born in India in 1955, Nooyi began her studies and career in India, eventually studying at Yale School of Management and continuing her career at a series of international companies. She was eventually named President and CEO of PepsiCo in 2006 becoming the fifth CEO in PepsiCo’s 44-year history. She made many important contributions during her time at PepsiCo and beyond.
