The Japanese Club will meet this Thursday, online, at 2:00 p.m. We will explore famous tourist sights all around Japan, and learn how to ask for directions when traveling. Also, we will review the traditional Japanese foods and how to order food in Japan. The online code is  wt4upbd. All are welcome.

ATHLETIC NEWS:
The Boys Tennis Team finished out their regular season with a victory over East Catholic!
Winning for the Bobcats were Jonathan Huot & Rahul Mahesh, Matthew Chin and Kevin Joseph in Singles and Sri Sripada and Trinay Harraharan & Noah Marques & Suri Singaravelu in Doubles. The Bobcats finished their season with a record of 12 wins and 4 losses and are very excited to play in the State Tournament next weekend!

Drop off at 630 Avery Street on Saturday, May 29th from noon to 5:00 p.m. or Sunday, June 6th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thanks for supporting SWHS Friends of the Performing Arts!

This information provides School Counseling with a helpful overview of college application outcomes, but it also indicates where your final transcript should be sent or what your other post-graduation plans may be. ATHLETIC NEWS:

Last Friday Girls Track and Field competed in the JI Invitational against 18 other schools. Abby Weiner took first place in the javelin and Erin Dunn took third place in the pole vault. On Tuesday, the team won their duel meet against East Hartford. First place finishes went to Grace Smith in the 800, Kaitlyn Dempsky in the mile, Katelyn Drenga in the two mile, Erin Stephens in 300 hurdles, Abby Weiner in discus and javelin, Katelyn Baumgartner in high jump, Erin Dunn in pole vault, and the 4x800 team of Katelyn Drenga, Abby Grohs, Rhianna O'Meara, and Grace Smith.

The Boys Tennis Team took on Tolland and won with a convincing 7-0 victory with straight sets in every match. Winning for the Bobcats were Jonathan Huot and Rahul Mahesh, Matthew Chin and Kevin Joseph in Singles and Vrishab Murali & Anthony Chen, Sri Sripada & Trinay Harraharan and Noah Marques & Tom Augustine in Doubles. The team has a record of 11 wins and 4 losses and is looking to close out their regular season with one more win Friday versus East Catholic - Great Job Bobcats!!

Eleventh graders should arrive by 7:15 a.m. and bring a charged Chromebook and Chromebook charger to the test. ALL other students will have a late arrival and should arrive at school by 10:05 a.m. Dismissal is at 2:00 p.m. Any seniors who are not attending the Senior Outing are expected to attend class as well. For more information please see the website under Messages from the Principal.

Attention Seniors who were eligible to take a language assessment for the Seal of Biliteracy. You must use the credentials shared with you via a Google Classroom Assignment in April to fully complete all sections of the test by Friday. Email Mrs. Stoj with any questions. 
 
Seniors attending the outing TOMORROW, Thursday, May 20th should arrive at the school for 7:30 a.m. We will meet outside the school in front of the main lobby. Bus assignments will be posted outside the school. Once you find your bus number, please line up in front of your assigned bus. More specific information will be posted to Google Classroom. 
 
Female students in the junior class are invited to submit a letter of intent and a resume to the local chapter of PEO, an international women’s philanthropic educational organization, for their Star Scholarship. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and exhibit excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, and community service. Interested students can see Mrs. Carty in the Career Center for more information or search the Naviance scholarship database for the PEO Star Scholarship.

The Boys Tennis Team celebrated Senior Day by having all the seniors in the varsity lineup and coming away with a decisive 7-0 win vs. Bristol Eastern. Winning for the Bobcats were Jonathan Huot, Rahul Mahesh, Jack Kronenwetter and Matthew Chin at Singles and Vrishab Murali & Anthony Chen, Aidan Kieft & Keshav Ramesh & Manav Surti and Andrew Kotait at doubles. Thanks to the underclassmen who did a great job of planning a Senior Celebration that the Seniors will never forget. The Bobcats record is currently 10 wins and 4 losses with 2 matches left. The next match is Wednesday at Tolland.

Winning for the Bobcats were Jonathan Huot, Matthew Chin and Kevin Joseph in Singles and Vrishab Murali & Anthony Chen, Sri Sripada & Trinay Harriharan and Aidan Keift & Jack Kronenwetter in Doubles. Our record is now 9 wins and 4 losses. Our next match is Tuesday where the Bobcats take on Bristol Eastern at home on our Senior Celebration Day.

Join them to watch movies on rainy days, or if you enjoy DIY activities they have plenty of craft supplies. The William L. Perry scholarship is awarded to South Windsor High School graduating seniors who have a record of outstanding leadership and have successfully studied a rigorous course load. Applications are due TODAY. Please search for the scholarship in Naviance or contact Mrs. Carty if you need help finding it.

There are several job postings for part-time or summer work available to students who are at least 16 years of age. The Red Cabin Restaurant is hiring both a dishwasher and a busser/food runner, Channel 3 Kids Camp is looking for 18 year old or older students interested in working with kids in its summer program, Six Flags, Lowe’s and LAZ Parking have all been looking for help recently. Stop by the Career Center to get application information on jobs that might interest you.
