Curtain Up! The fully digital South Windsor High School musical production, "Pandemonium 2020," will premiere on Friday, May 7th! The cabaret-style show features nine talented students performing short, original scenes and songs from the American musical theatre canon. Save the date! 

Smith College in Northampton, MA will run its annual Women of Distinction program for prospective students who are African American, Latina, Asian American and Native American. Admission is competitive and is for female students who are current juniors. The program will take place virtually in October. For more information and to apply to the program, go to smith.edu/women-distinction-program and/or visit the Career Center.

ATHLETIC NEWS:
The Boys' Tennis is on a roll with their 4th straight victory of the season with a win against Berlin. Winning for the Bobcats were Singles Players Co-Captain Jonathan Huot, Matthew Chin, Co-Captain Rahul Mahesh and Jack Kronwetter and Doubles players Vrishab Murali & Anthony Chen and Sri Sripada & Trinayaan Hariharan. The Bobcats are undefeated this season and their next match is Wednesday at EO Smith. Good Luck Bobcats!

The Boys Tennis Team posted their 3rd straight victory with a dominating win over RHAM 7-0. Winning for the Bobcats were Co-Captain Jonathan Huot, Co-Captain Rahul Mahesh, Kevin Joseph and Sri Sripada in Singles and Vrishab Murali & Anthony Chen, Trinayaan Hariharan & Aidan Kieft and Noah Marques & Tom Augustine in Doubles. All matches were won in straight sets! Next match for the Bobcats is Monday, April 26th at Berlin.

Yesterday, 110 SWHS students were inducted into the World Language Honor Societies - French, Latin, Italian and Spanish. Congratulations to all!

 
Six members of FCCLA competed in the State Competition and each member earned a gold or silver medal in their category. The following students won awards: Aditi Malpure, Samantha Belekewicz, Nadia Siddiqui, Caroline Hegi, Hiba Khan, and Susanna Gerald. Congratulations Bobcats!

A local landscaping company is hiring for the spring and summer. Part-time hours are available now for after school and weekends, but work can be full-time for the summer. No experience is necessary as the company is willing to train. Pay is $14 per hour. See a copy of the flyer in the Career Center or contact Mrs. Carty.

The following students have been selected as the Students of the Month for March. Congratulations to: Anthony Attianese, Samantha Deras, Olivia Kvadus, Shakira Lin, Audrey Manning, Anamitra Rawat, Neigya Skyers, and Nation Wells.
 
The FBLA Spring Leadership Conference and Competition was held on Saturday, April 10th. Our school chapter won Gold for The FBLA Chapter Recognition Award! Pranav Ramesh won the Who's Who Award and received the Richard Dwyer Scholarship. The following students also won awards: Rohan Pruthi, Kavin Shanmugam, Jaideep Naik, Faizdeenkhan Pathan, Keshav Ramesh, Abhinay Prabhuraj, Trinayaan Harriharan, and Saoudkhan Pathan. Congratulations to all for a great job!

Winning for the Bobcats were Matthew Chin at #2 Singles, Captain Rahul Mahesh at #3 Singles, Kevn Joseph at #4 Singles and Trinayaan Hariharan & Sri Sripada at #2 Doubles. There was great play all around and the team showed great determination and perseverance to come up with the win. Great job Bobcats!

Last Tuesday, Girls Track and Field won their meet against RHAM, 82 to 64 with many strong performances and first place finishes. Congratulations to Erin Dunn who qualified for States in pole vault and the 4X100 team of Candace Walsh, Sidney Montana, Erin Dunn, and Katelyn Baumgartner who also qualified for states. First place finishes went to Amanda Walsh in hurdles, Candace Walsh in sprints, Caroline Hegi and Maya Hathorn in jumps, Sophia McCormack in throws, and Erin Dunn in pole vault.

All matches were done in 2 sets!!

We are moving forward this year virtually for the induction ceremonies for French, Latin, Italian and Spanish. Letters and virtual program information will be going home in the next week with instructions. All 2020 recipients will have a virtual induction at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 22nd.

For the remainder of the year, Seniors are welcome to sit on bleachers while they eat lunch. The patio is open to students with a limit of two students per table.
