Today for Black History Month, we recognize Benjamin O. Davis, Jr. General Davis commanded the first all-Black unit of military pilots, called the Tuskegee Airmen. When the U.S. entered World War 2, the Tuskegee Army Air Field began training African Americans as military pilots and Davis was part of the first graduating class. He was immediately given a command of a unit of all-Black pilots and later commanded an even larger group. During WW2, his men bravely flew into enemy territory in Germany and Italy.
