There
is a Student Council Meeting on THURSDAY, December 7th in Room 166 at 2:10-3
pm. All representatives are encouraged to attend. We will be making posters for
the Holiday Spirit Week before Winter break to hang in teachers'
classrooms.
Attention
SWHS Community! December 7th is CCMC’s Pajama Day for the KIDS! Interact
is challenging you and your homeroom to compete in our first annual PJ Palooza
to be held on Thursday, December 7th. Students and teachers can donate at
least one dollar and earn points for wearing specific pj attire like pj pants,
matching pj outfit, slippers, bathrobes, sleep stuffies, etc. Bonus points will
be awarded to homerooms with participating teachers. Points will also be
awarded for specific monetary amounts that homerooms can collectively raise.
Each grade level will have a winning homeroom with prizes including a student
pizza party and duty coverage for the winning homeroom teacher by a SWHS admin!

The
Class of 2026 is hosting a fundraising at a local sandwich and soup shop
located at 100 Hemlock Ave. on December 13th from 4-8pm. Please see the Class
of 2026 Instagram page or the bulletin board for the poster to show at
checkout.
Attention
Seniors: the final wave of Capstone presentations will take place on January 23
and 24. You must present your Capstone in January. In order to
present, your written work must be turned into your adviser's Google Classroom
by Friday January 12th. You then need to fill out the Google Form on the
Capstone Website so we know you are ready to present and can reserve you a time
slot. Reach out to your adviser if you have questions.
CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:
Come
support the Water Launch Club on Friday 12/8 from 5:00-8:00 pm by going to the
local frozen yogurt shop located at 1500 Pleasant valley road in Manchester and
help raise money for our cause. Feel free to reach out to Mrs. Zaccardelli with
any questions.
Please
join us on Wednesday, December 20th for our next Italian Club meeting right
after school in room 105. We will be making Italian desserts like:
ricotta cookies, cannoli, pizzelle, hot chocolate, and tiramisù! Space is
limited so please give $5 to Mrs. Zaccardelli in room Annex 35 to save a
spot.
The
Mind's Eye Writing Contest deadline is this Friday, December 8th. You may
submit using the QR code on any of our fliers, or by emailing Ms. Flachsbart.
Come
help make tangy and sweet holiday treats with the Cooking Club on Thursday,
December 21st at 2:05 PM in Room 105. We will make Hot Chocolate, Pull Apart
Christmas Trees, Tangy grape Jelly meatballs, Christmas Tree Pull Apart
Cupcakes, Snowwomen and Snowman Rice Krispie Treats, White Chocolate Holiday
Chex Mix, Santa's Sugar Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches and Death by
Chocolate. Mark your calendars. Please bring $5 to Sra. Ruiz in AN
56 or to Sra. Hwang in AN 37 to reserve your spot today. Do not delay as
spots fill up quickly!

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER:
Attention
students: The Town of South Windsor is looking for a seasonal revenue
assistant. Ideal candidates have strong math and customer service skills. The
position requires processing payments and interacting with the public. The
anticipated start date is December 26th. A flier with complete details is on
the jobs board in the Career Center. Stop in to get application information.
Resumes and letters of interest are due December 11th.
