Voice 4 Change: On March 28th, during homeroom, students will have the opportunity to vote for an idea that was proposed by their peers as part of Civics classes and a statewide project called Voice 4 Change. “Voice4Change will allow students to suggest how $20,000 of the ARP ESSER state set-aside money will be spent in their school. Seventy-six Connecticut high schools representing more than 55,000 students are participating in this exciting opportunity.” Read more about the state project here - Voice4Change. COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology and MCC will host a manufacturing career expo on Friday, March 25th from 9 – noon at the CCAT Advanced Technology Center in East Hartford. Visit the Career Center for complete details. There is a flyer hanging on the Programs & Events board.

Upper Duprey Parking- Please ensure that your car is parked in a legitimate parking spot in any lot, but especially in Upper Duprey. Double parking is not allowed on the ends of the rows. Emergency vehicles need to be able to get around. If your car is illegally parked it is subject to being towed at your expense.

This past weekend, Team 177 Bobcat Robotics won the FIRST Robotics Competition Western New England Event with two finals match scores of 114 to 87 and 106 to 75. In addition, the drive team, consisting of Pranav Ramesh, Matt Slater, and Jack Libow, scored an average of 114 points during the playoffs and also scored 122 in one of their semifinals matches, a high score of the day. Thanks to all who made this victory possible, and a special congratulations to the contributing seniors, including Pranav Ramesh, Jack Libow, Kashyap Rao, Mitchell Marks, Aarav Nair, Sidharth Masarur, Laila Jackson, Dylian Erwin, Sivani Arvapalli, Aarnav Alsi, and Dalton Silverman.

Spaces are limited and applications will be processed on a first come, first serve basis. Students must have all required documentation at the time of submission.

In addition, the drive team, consisting of Pranav Ramesh, Matt Slater, and Dylian Erwin, scored a record-breaking 122 points during the playoffs, more than doubling the opposing alliance's score. Thanks to all the students, mentors, and teachers on the team who made this victory possible! The team will be heading to Springfield for their Western New England competition this coming weekend. For centuries, traditional Japanese theater masks have fascinated audiences in Japan and now around the world. On THURSDAY, March 17, the Japanese Club will be learning about the history of kabuki masks and also create our own original designs. Our mask design patterns have arrived in the USA and are ready to be painted. Of course, we will continue to watch anime thereafter as well.
Poetry Club will hold a meeting this Thursday, March 17th after school in room 129. Join us to meet other poets, read and write poetry, and maybe come up with something you can share at the next Mind's Eye Coffeehouse! Join our Google Classroom using the code xisxy4t.

The SADD Club is offering a variety of opportunities during the month of March to help relieve your stress, learn something new and have some fun! All 3 programs are open to ALL SWHS students. The art class has been rescheduled for THIS THURSDAY, MARCH 17th from 2:45-3:30. Join Mr. Zilinski for this free, virtual art class to learn some drawing and cartooning techniques. The second opportunity will be a Virtual Kahoot night, starting at 7pm on Tuesday, March 22nd. Dunkin gift cards will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Finally, a nutritionist will present a program on healthy smoothies on Wednesday, March 30th from 7-7:45pm.
