There is a Travel Club meeting TODAY, Tuesday, February 5 at 6:00 pm in the Cafeteria for all students, parents and chaperones going on the trip to Spain and Italy. The following meeting will be on Thursday, March 21 at 6:00 pm in the Cafeteria for all students, parents and chaperones going on the trip. Please make every effort to attend both meetings.

Seniors: Please remember that at the requests of colleges, SWHS School Counseling will automatically send your Semester 1 Report Card to all colleges listed on all of your Transcript Request forms that you submitted to School Counseling this year. Report Cards will be sent beginning on Wednesday, February 6. If you do not want your Report Card sent to specific colleges, you must submit that request in writing to the School Counseling office prior to the end of school TODAY, Tuesday, February 5. Please see your School Counselor with any questions or concerns.

Sophomores: Bring in any spare change you have lying around and donate them to the coin drive collection in your homerooms. Proceeds go towards saving for future events, such as prom. Hurry! The homeroom who collects the most by this Friday will win a sweet, munchkin treat!

The Science Fiction/Fantasy club will meet Thursday, February 7 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm in room 127. Join us for snacks while we watch and discuss The Lord of the Rings.

Hey Bobcat Foodies! The Cooking Club will be planning our February menu this Thursday, February 7 after school in room 105. What's this month's theme? Breakfast dishes and a tribute to chocolate for Valentine's Day. See Ms. Cliff or Sra. Ruiz with questions.

If you have been cast in the spring play, Game of Tiaras, then please join the Google Classroom for it. The code is on the casting list outside room 144 (Mrs. White's room). Also, there is a rehearsal TODAY, Tuesday, February 5 in the auditorium for all highlighted names on the casting sheet outside room 144.

Reminder, there is an Interact meeting Thursday, February 7 at 2:05 pm in the Seminar room. We hope to see you there! If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Howard in room 134.

If you are currently enrolled in a MCC/CCP eligible class, whether it is a Semester 2 class or a full-year class, please make sure you have established a Banner ID with Manchester Community College by this Friday, February 8. If you previously registered for a Banner ID, either during the fall enrollment period or during a previous school year, then you are all set. This reminder is only for students who have never established a Banner ID and wish to receive credit for classes taken during the 2018-2019 school year.

Hey - did you miss the informational meeting for Unified Theater? No worries. Please come to the next regularly scheduled meeting: Mondays and/or Wednesdays, after school in the Seminar room. We would love to have you join.

Students in grades K through 12 may participate in the contest. Entry forms with full details are available in the Career Center. The contest ends on February 28.

It’s Spirit Week! Tomorrow is Football Friday. Support your favorite football team in honor of Super Bowl Sunday.

Sign up to audition for the spring play, "Clue," outside room 147. Please fill out an audition form and report to your audition TODAY in room 144. See Mrs. White for details.

Unified Sports has their first home basketball game after school on Thursday at Wapping School gym! Come out to support the team at 3:00 pm!

Do you need a positive break in your schedule next year? A class that allows you to be creative, move around, interact with your classmates, be silly, and express yourself? Still looking for that Humanities Elective credit? Join us in Theatre Studies! Whether you've been on stage your whole life or always wanted to try it out but never had the courage, this class will allow you to develop your performance skills while creating a character for the stage. We'll build your confidence, practice teamwork, play games, and most of all, allow you a fun and productive break in your day! This class is open to 9th - 12th graders, so all are welcome. See Mrs. Stodd Knapp with questions, and be sure to tell your Counselor you are interested in Theatre Studies for the 2019-2020 school year.

All those interested in playing Boys’ Lacrosse this spring, there will be a brief informational meeting Thursday, January 31 at 6:00 pm in the Seminar Room. All players and parents encouraged to attend. If you cannot attend please contact Coach Giordano.

The Gay-Straight Alliance will meet today, January 30 at 2:00 pm in room 148. Come for the snacks, stay for the awesome action items and conversation! Hope to see you there.

It's a good opportunity to learn about the golf program requirements and expectations and ask the coach any questions you might have about the 2019 spring season.

The South Windsor Dollars for Scholars application portal has officially opened. It will close promptly on March 15 at 11:59 pm. The application process can be lengthy, but worth your time, so do not wait to get started. You can find the link for the portal on the SWHS homepage. Read all instructions carefully and come to School Counseling or the Career Center if you need help. This is a great opportunity for scholarship money so get to work and good luck!

If you know a high school senior or an adult in the South Windsor community who has demonstrated outstanding community service, consider nominating them for a Eugene Policelli Service Award. Nomination forms for both students and adults are available in the Career Center and must be submitted by March 1. If you know a deserving person, consider suggesting them for this notable community award.

Bonjour, Hola and Buongiorno: The Travel Club will be selling red, pink and white carnations, 3 for $5 or $2 each, as well as various colors of heart shaped earrings which are $10 a pair, in the cafeteria during lunch waves today, January 28 through Wednesday, January 30. Surprise a friend or your special valentine. Orders will be delivered on Wednesday, February 13. Help support our Spain and Italy trip on April break.
