Leadership Greater Hartford is currently accepting applications for their Summer Nexus program. Summer Nexus is a seven day leadership program that assembles motivated and energetic high school students for a crash course in leadership development and community involvement. Participants will broaden their horizons by meeting new people and having new experiences. They will gain new skills to expand their resume as well as help them at home, at school and in job hunting. They will meet community leaders and do community service to help the Hartford region. If you are interested in the Summer Nexus program, see Ms. Lane in Room 6 with questions or for an application.

-Caitlin Sze and doubles team Leah Polanksy and Jia Yazon traveled to Yale Tennis Center to compete at the Individual Open. Polansky and Yazon outplayed Wiltons doubles team for a second time and made All State. Sze also made All State team on Sunday by defeating Joel Barlow's top player. Both lines met some tough opponents and lost tough matches in the quarter finals. Way to go girls and make history for 3 players in the same season making All State.
-Congratulations to the Boys Varsity volleyball team for a great season and effort last night in their semifinal match vs. Newington. Also, a big Thank You to all of the fellow Bobcats, families, and friends who both came out last night to cheer on the team and supported the team all season. Beginning Monday, June 4, seniors can apply for parking passes for the 18-19 school year by submitting all necessary items with the application to the Main Office or Admin 237. Only complete packets will be accepted. The cost for the pass is $100 for the school year, and applications are located in the Main Office.

-On Wednesday, the doubles team of Parker Pacekonis & Ronnak Saxena played in the Class L doubles quarterfinals against Daniel Hand at Yale. It was a great match with Parker & Ronnak pushing the Hand team to play their best tennis. Although the Hand team won 6-4, 6-4, it was a great display of tennis and a fun match to watch. Congrats to Parker and Ronnak for making it to the quarterfinals and for also being the only Hartford County team to make it that far.
-The girls’ golf team wrapped up their first season with a 14th place finish at the CCC tournament yesterday. Meghna Mazumdar, Caroline McCullough, Aayushi Patel, Rachel Maher and Olivia Hewitt all competed well. The team finished the year with a 6-4 record.

-The girls’ tennis team defeated Wilton on Saturday in a very close match 4-3 and they traveled to Staples yesterday but came up short and is bumped out of the playoffs. The team ends their season with a 15-2 record. This Saturday, Caitlin Sze and Varsha Rathore will compete in the State Individual Open and doubles team Jia Yazon and Leah Polansky will compete in the State Doubles Open. -The boys’ tennis team had an excellent showing as the Class L State Tournament continued yesterday at Amity High School. The doubles team of Elijah Wood & Jack Perry played a tough, seasoned team from Fairfield Ludlowe. Although they did not prevail, they had an excellent competitive match. Seeded #7 Brandon Sze won his third round match against the #12 seed from Notre Dame-West Haven 6-3, 7-5; however, he lost in the quarterfinal round. The doubles team of Parker Pacekonis & Ronnak Saxena played 2 matches, winning both against Guilford and Farmington. These wins advance them to the quarterfinals today at Yale University where they will take on #4 seed from Daniel Hand. Congrats on a great tournament and best of luck today.

The Hartford County 4H Camp in Marlborough is seeking a kitchen maintenance person for its summer camp program. The award decision will be based on a short 500 word writing prompt, extracurricular activities, and academics. Erin Dunn, Bailey Puebla, Bella Sanchez, Elizabeth Martinez, Micaela Hanson, and Missy Sullivan achieved personal records. Izzy Erikson and Shannon Anthony were all conference, coming in first in the 3200 and 2nd in the high jump.
-The boys’ varsity volleyball team traveled to Newington Tuesday night to face them in the CCC tournament. The team fought hard in the 3-2 loss against the number three seed. The varsity team is now preparing for the upcoming Class M state tournament next week going into it with a 13-7 record. Congratulations to both the Varsity and JV players for a great regular season. The final record for JV was 17-3. Congrats again and good luck in the post season.
