SCHOOL NEWS: 

 

Attention all students enrolled in AP Statistics for next school year: There will be a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, June 3 at 2:10pm in the Cafeteria to collect summer work, discuss expectations of the course, and answer questions you may have. If you have a conflict and absolutely cannot attend the meeting, you must contact Mr. Brindisi in advance of the meeting with the reason for your absence. He can also be found in Room 265.

 

Attention students enrolled in AP Chemistry for the 2025-2026 school year. There will be a mandatory meeting on Monday 6/2 from 2:15-3pm in the seminar room. Summer work will be assigned. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Powell in room 223 or Ms. Howard in Room 250.

 

AP US History Summer work will be available for pick up on Wednesday June 4th, Thursday June 5th and Friday June 6th. Mr. Garrish's students should pick theirs up in Room 135 and Mr. Quinn's students should pick theirs up in Room 137.

 

Cap & gown, honor cords, and parking pass pick up will take place Wednesday (6/4) and Thursday (6/5) in the Seminar Room after school until 4:30. Seniors or parents/guardians (with ID) can pick up. As a reminder, each senior gets up to 2 complementary parking passes. If additional parking tickets are needed, they can be purchased for $5 each at pick up.

 

On Wednesday, June 4th the South Windsor Registrar of Voters will host a Voter registration drive outside of the Cafeteria through the end of lunch waves. They will be available to answer questions and provide opportunities to register to vote for eligible individuals.

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES: 

 

The Drama Club will hold a meeting afterschool Monday, June 2nd, in Rm 256. We will be discussing officers for next year and the name for the official club and we will also be announcing the fall musical. Please see Mrs. Correale if you have any questions.

 

On Monday, June 2nd, the Japanese Club will celebrate the hard work, admirable effort and incredible dedication to our many Japanese Club activities organized throughout the year with fresh mochi. Mochi is a favorite Japanese dessert in strawberry, green tea and mango flavors.

In order to attend student activities such as Senior Reception, students must be in school for at least 50% of the class periods that day. Students who arrive at 7:25 are eligible to be dismissed at 10:05 (after period 4). A link to a google form was emailed to parents on Tuesday. Please make sure your parents complete this form in order to grant you permission to be dismissed from school early. 

 

For those students who arrive after 7:25, please be advised that it is important for you to be in school for at least half of the school day in order for your attendance at reception to be in good standing. Failure to do so may prohibit your ability to attend. Advisors and administrators will be checking attendance throughout the day to ensure that all students attending reception 

meet these requirements. 

 

Senior Reception will be held at the Marriott in Windsor, CT. All students will have their bags checked upon entry into the venue. Please know, the latest students can enter reception is 7:00 PM. Any student(s) arriving after that time will not be permitted. In addition, once students decide to leave reception  for the night, they will not be readmitted.

The last Italian Club Meeting of the year will be on Thursday, May 29th right after school in Room 105. We will be making pizza, bruschetta, salad, and cannoli! Get $5 to Mrs. Zaccardelli in Annex Room 35 as soon as possible to save yourself a spot. 

 

Attention all Interact Club members!

Our end-of-year meeting will be held this Thursday, May 29th, from 2:05 to 3:00 PM in the Library Media Center and Seminar Room. This is a mandatory meeting for any club member expecting to receive their 8-hour volunteer certificate. We’ll also be presenting the Volunteer of the Year Award, committee awards, and a few surprise awards! To help us celebrate, food and drinks will be provided! Again, this meeting is for all Interact Club volunteers who have completed 8 or more hours of service.

We will make Rainbow Layered Juice Cups, Margarita Pizza, 4 Layer dip with Tortilla chips, Chipotle Slawdogs, No-bake Chocolate Peanut Butter M&M Balls, No Bake S'more bars, No Bake Funfetti cheesecake and we will have a build your own sundae bar. Come join us as we celebrate our graduating Seniors! Please bring $5 to Sra. Ruiz in Annex Room 56 or to Sra. Hwang in Annex Room 37.

The Class of 2028 is having a fundraiser at Panera at 100 Hemlock Avenue on May 22nd from 4pm- 8pm. 

 

Attention freshman: Are you still working on your science fair research paper? Wish someone could help you with it? Stop by the Writing Center! We are open Wednesday and Thursday after school from 2-3 pm in room 125 or during period 1 on Thursday in the media center!

The HOPE Club’s last meeting of the year is on May 22nd, after school in Room 207. Come learn about neurofibromatosis, practice medical skills with our new medical manikin, and learn how you can get more involved next year. Snacks will be provided. Attention all Archery club members. Today on Tues 5/20 there's a scheduled meeting to head down to the front field from 2:15 to 3:30 pm. Please meet in the lobby by 2:15pm for us to go to the field together and most importantly, you will need to make plans to get a ride home afterwards since there's no late bus today. Contact Mrs. Holt in the PE office or via email with any questions.

 

Last week, Girls Track and Field won their meet against East Catholic. First place finishes were had by Julianna Mayer in 100 hurdles, Jaya Pichay in 100 and 200, Kiran Thaker in the 800 and the mile, Maddie Cunha in pole vault, Kyla Levy in long jump, Sadhana Ganesan in triple jump, Mallory Mead in javelin, Nayana Pradeep in discus and Ny'Zae Brown in shot put.
