CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:  

 

Please join us on Thursday, November 21st, when the Pet Project Club will meet after school in Annex-17 at 2:10 until 2:40pm. We will discuss upcoming meetings, events, and supporting local animal shelters this holiday season! New and returning club participants are all welcome

 

Unified for underprivileged girls is having a meeting this Thursday right after school! All members and non members are welcome to join the club in room 256 to discuss women’s rights and write a thanksgiving penpal letter. Hope to see you there!

Looking for help on your writing? Or a quiet place to write after school? Come visit the Writing Center! We're open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2-3 pm in room 122B and room 125. You can get help from trained writing tutors or simply work on your writing. No appointment is needed, just drop in! For more information see Mrs. Howard or Mr. Hawie.

 

The Environmental Club is hosting a battery recycling drive now through Friday, November 22nd. Bring in rechargeable, single-use alkaline, or cell phone batteries to Room 206 and receive $10 in Staples Store Credit! If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Eitel in Room 206 or see the fliers posted around the school.

 

The November Cooking Club Day will be on Thursday,  November 21st at 2:00 PM in Room 105 at SWHS. We will cook Indian and traditional cuisine in honor of Diwali and Thanksgiving. The menu includes: Lemon-Lime Cranberry Spritzer,  Mac and Cheese, Cornbread, Mild Chicken Tikka Masala, Dulce de leche stuffed cookies, Chocolate chip bread pudding, and Saag Paneer. Please bring $5 to Sra. Ruiz in AN 56 or to Sra. Hwang in AN 37 to reserve your spot today.  

 

Design your own origami, hear about cultural differences of school life in Japan, and learn Japanese words and phrases about high school. You know the club. THURSDAY, November 21 in room 230.

 

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER:

 

South Windsor High School will administer the ASVAB CEP test on Wednesday, December 11th at 8:00am in the Seminar Room at SWHS. Whether you’re planning to go to college, a vocational school, or the Military, or you’re just not sure what you want to do yet, the ASVAB CEP can provide you with important information about your skills and interests -- and help get you on the right path toward a satisfying career. Due to the limited number of seats available, registration is first come, first served. The test is open to all students in grades 10-12. If you would like to take the ASVAB CEP please email Mr. Briggs or stop by the School Counseling Office.
