Friendly Reminder: Thursday, May 20th is the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Testing Day for 11th graders. Eleventh graders should arrive by 7:15 a.m. and bring a charged chromebook and chromebook charger to the test. ALL other students will have a late arrival and should arrive at school by 10:05 a.m. Dismissal is at 2:00 p.m. Any seniors who are not attending the Senior Outing are expected to attend class as well. First place finishes went to 4X800 team Rhianna O'Meara, Grace Smith, Katelyn Drenga, and Cora Brownbill, Kaitlyn Dempsky in the mile, Grace Smith in the two mile and 800, Maddie Hathorn in pole vault, Bridget Carroll in Triple jump, Abby Wiener in javelin, Sarah Cadman in discus, and Sophia McCormack in shot put.

ATHLETIC NEWS:
The Boys Tennis Team continued their win streak with a 6-1 victory over East Hartford. Winning for the Bobcats were Jonathan Huot and Rahul Mahesh, Matthew Chin and Kevin Joseph at Singles and Vrisha Murali & Anthony Chen and Sri Sripada and Trinay Hariharan at Doubles. The team has clinched a spot in the State Tournament and their next goal is to win their division in the CCC! The next match is Monday May 17th at Manchester.

Boys Tennis continued their winning streak with a decisive victory against Rocky Hill by a score of 7-0. Winning for Bobcats were Jonathan Huot, Rahul Mahesh and Jack Kronenwetter and Matthew Chin in Singles and Vrishab Murali & Anthony Chen and Sri Sripada & Trinyan Harrihan in Doubles. Our next match is Wednesday, May 12th vs. East Hartford at home. The team now has a record of 7 wins and 4 losses which qualifies the team for CIAC State Tournament - Well Done Bobcats!

There is a mandatory workshop being held this Friday, May 7th to aid you in finishing this graduation requirement. It will take place in room 132 for students attending in person. Full distance learners will attend online via Google Meet. Students will be scheduled for a workshop during their early release, study hall, or may be excused from classes depending on their individual class schedule. You will be informed of when you are to attend the workshop through Google Classroom and your school email. To be eligible to attend Senior Outing, the written portion of Capstone must be turned into Google Classroom by May 13th. After you have completed the written components, your presentation will be scheduled. Capstone requirements are detailed on the Capstone Google Classroom. Applicants must show a record of participation in high commitment activities such as athletics, music or drama, while also being active leaders in service clubs or student government. This is a great opportunity for students who meet the criteria as it is for SWHS students ONLY. You must apply by May 14th. The application is linked to the scholarship listing in Naviance. ATHLETIC NEWS:
The Bobcats lost a tight match to Wethersfield by a score of 3-4. Winning for the Bobcats was Jonathan Huot and Matthew Chin at Singles and Noah Marques & Suri Singaravelu at Doubles. The Bobcats' record is now 5 wins and 2 losses with tough matches coming up with Avon on Wednesday and Hall on Friday.

On Friday the undefeated Boys Tennis Team fell to a strong Glastonbury team by a score of 6-1. The lone winner for the Bobcats was Rahul Mahesh in a tough 3 set match at 3rd singles - Congrats Rahul! The team's record stands at 5-1. The Bobcats are looking to get back on the winning track Monday at home versus Wethersfield.
