Seniors, we are almost there! Please listen carefully to the following announcements:
- Please help Ms. Festi pronounce your name correctly at Graduation. Using the FlipGrid assignment link in your Class of 2021 Google Classroom page, please upload a video of how to say your first, middle and last name.
- Senior Distance Learners: Please return your textbooks today, Monday, June 7th or Tuesday, June 8th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Main Lobby. You can also pick up your yearbooks at this time.
- All Seniors: Please return your Chromebook and charger AND pick up your Cap, Gown, and Cords on Wednesday, June 9th or Thursday, June 10th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Media Center. 
 
Are you interested in organizing Blood Drives? Are you dedicated, reliable, and able to work with the community? Are you a current sophomore or junior? If so, apply to be a part of the Blood Drive Coordination Committee! Help organize and run three blood drives during the next school year - November, January, and in March. If you are a current junior, the Blood Drive Coordinator position is also available. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Belval in Room 204 or contact her at [email protected]. The Freshmen Class of 2024 will have its last fundraiser at a local Italian ice restaurant on Friday, June 11th from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Come support the Class of 2024.

If you have ever wondered what your neighborhood would look like from the sky or have been curious about airplanes or being a pilot, you may want to check out the Young Eagles Rally at Meriden-Markham Airport on Saturday, June 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants will take a FREE flight and see what real pilots do. You must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and you can register at the event. If you would like to see a flyer with more details, please stop by the Career Center and look on the bulletin board marked “Programs and Events”.
 
Interested in becoming a leader in the school? Join Student Council for the next school year! New members welcome! We are responsible for planning spirit weeks, pep rallies, school & other community events. Our first task is Freshmen Orientation on August 24th & 25th this summer. If you were a CATS leader in previous years, please consider joining our club & helping out with Freshmen Orientation. All Students: For those who qualified for Honor Roll this year, you may pick up your honor roll certificates in the Media Center from 7:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. until Friday, June 11th. Certificates that are not picked up by June 11th will be mailed home over the summer.
 
Students in Grades 9, 10 and 11: End-of-Year Classroom Material Collection and Distribution is occurring this week. You will need to return textbooks, art/music supplies and other classroom materials. In addition, you may need to pick up AP textbooks or your pre-ordered yearbook. For In-Person Learners: Please come to the lobby during your lunch wave on Monday, June 7th or Tuesday, June 8th. For Distance Learners: Please come to the lobby on Monday, June 7th or Tuesday, June 8th anytime between 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
 
Seniors: Two new scholarships are now available! The South Windsor Soccer Club Scholarship is open to former members of the soccer club who would like to continue their education next year. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded, and applications are due Wednesday, June 16th. The Red Sox Service Scholarship is for seniors who make an impact through service in their community. There will be multiple $1,000 scholarship winners who will be invited to attend a game at Fenway Park. The application is due Friday, June 25th. Both opportunities are listed in Naviance in the scholarship database.
 
The NEFCO Corporation is looking to fill many positions in its East Hartford warehouse. The packing and shipping company will train all employees and is in need of part-time, full-time and summer help. ATHLETIC NEWS:
Last week, Girls Track and Field competed in the Conference Championship meet and finished with a 4-3 record for the regular season. At the championship, Abby Weiner won javelin and Erin Dunn won pole vault, achieving All Conference. Maddie Hathorn took 3rd in pole vault, and Bridget Carroll took 3rd in triple jump. Katelyn Baumgartner, Sidney Montana, Candace Walsh, Mikayla Allore, Caroline Hegi, Sophia McCormack, Erin Stephens, Alyssa Drenga, Maya Hathorn, and Grace Smith all finished in the top 8 of their individual events. Congratulations on a great season! 

Tryouts for the 2021-2022 SWHS Cheerleading team will be held on Thursday, June 10th, and Friday, June 11th, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the gym. You must attend both days. In order to try-out, all online registration forms must be submitted to the main office, including a current Physician's Statement. The form can be found on the website under Athletics/Forms.
