SCHOOL NEWS
The library will be closed after school on Thursday, September 23rd and Friday, September 24th. Please plan accordingly. 
 
National Honor Society will be holding a short meeting with current members only TODAY, Wednesday, September 22nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria. Remember to bring your $20 dues. Cash or check made payable to SWHS.  
 
It's time for the 9th Grade Class of 2025 elections! Positions available are President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The candidate application form can be found on the 9th Grade Class of 2025 Google Classroom. Speeches are due to Mrs. Barrett by Monday, September 27th. Any questions, please see Mrs. Barrett in room 122A. Elections will be held on Tuesday, October 5th. 
 
CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES
The Strategy Club will meet virtually TODAY, Wednesday, September 22nd at 2:30 p.m. on Google Meet. New members are welcome. To learn more about the club, look for our showcase in the English hallway. To attend our first meeting, join the club's Google Classroom using the code: q6zwz3w.
 
The Computer Science club will have its first meeting TODAY, Wednesday, September 22nd after school in room 9! Stop by if you're interested in learning about CS, volunteering, and competing!
 
Attention all students! Are you interested in getting more volunteer hours? Develop leadership skills and connect back to the community? Interact Club is starting up again for the year! An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, September 23rd from 2:00 - 2:30 p.m. in the Media Center Classroom! We will also be revealing our new classroom code for the school year! If you have any questions, please see an Interact officer or Mrs. Howard in room 134.
 
The Japanese Culture Club will meet Thursday, September 23rd right after school in room 230. We will learn Japanese and watch anime. New members are always welcome. Classroom code: wt4upbd 
 
Science Olympiad will have its first informational meeting on Thursday, September 23rd in the auditorium. Meeting will begin at 2:15 p.m. and information on try-outs will be provided. Please be on time as we only plan to meet for a half hour. Join our classroom code with mromdrr and please see Mrs. Snyder or Mr. Kraus if you have any questions.
 
Interested in gaining confidence and communication skills? Join the Debate Club! Our first meeting will be on Friday, September 24th afterschool in room 250. No prior experience is required, if interested please stop by! Contact Ms. Howard (chemistry teacher) with any questions.
 
The Italian Club will have its first meeting on Monday, September 27th right after school in room 226. We will be talking about executive board positions at this meeting. Please join our Google Classroom using code: ivv437m. See Mr. Orsini or Mrs. Zaccardelli with any questions.
 
Are you interested in a future healthcare profession? Do you want to get a chance to talk to various healthcare professionals about their educational journey and experiences working in the medical industry? HOPE Club or Healthcare Occupational Professionals and Education Club is starting up again for the year! Join and meet and talk to guest speakers, get involved with Red Cross Blood Drives, and participate in STEM events! Be there for our first meeting on Tuesday, September 28th at 2:00 p.m. in room 204! 
 
Our literary magazine club, Mind's Eye, will hold its first meeting of the year next Wednesday, September 29th at 2:15 p.m. in room 129. New and returning members are welcome!
 
Woodworking Club will meet on Wednesdays from 2:10 to 3:10 p.m. beginning on September 29th. Come join us in room 2 - this club is open to all students and no experience is required.

Looking for leadership skills along with the chance to compete in various different events like baking, job interviews, or fashion design, and many more? This nationally recognized club will be holding their first official meeting Thursday, September 30th, 2:00 - 2:45 p.m. in room Wapping 11 with Ms. Porter. Refreshments will be provided.
 
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
Students interested in college visits will have the opportunity to meet with Springfield College and University of New Haven today and Seton Hall University on Friday. These visits will take place in the Career Center. Please register in Naviance. This is an excused absence, but you will need to get your teacher’s permission to miss class.
