SCHOOL NEWS:
On Friday, October 20th, SWHS will hold our annual Homecoming Pep Rally at 1:05 p.m., immediately following period 8. Students with period 8 early release who would like to attend the pep rally must remain at school and sign into the cafeteria during period 8. Students who leave campus will not be permitted to return until after 2 p.m.
Attention students attending Homecoming: In order to attend after school activities such as the Homecoming football game and dance, students must attend at least half of their class periods on that day. Advisors and administrators will be checking attendance throughout the day to ensure that all students attending homecoming meet these requirements. In addition, the latest that students can enter the homecoming dance is 8:00 PM. All those arriving after that time will not be permitted. If students are admitted to the dance and then leave, please know they will not be readmitted into the dance.

The American Mathematics Contest is coming in November! The AMC 10 and AMC 12 are 25-question, 75-minute, multiple choice examinations in high school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem-solving skills.
This year, we will offer both administrations of the test: the AMC 10/12A and the AMC 10/12B! The AMC 10/12A will be given during the school day on Wednesday, November 8. It will be administered during Period 2 and part of Period 4 in the cafeteria that day. You will miss these classes and will be marked as ACT (school activity) in Powerschool (you will return to Period 4 after the test is complete and all materials have been collected).
The AMC 10/12B will be given after school on Tuesday, November 14. Students will meet in the SWHS cafeteria at 3:00pm, and we should be done by 5:00pm. You may take either administration or both (for SWHS students), depending on your goals or availability. If you are interested in participating, you must first join the AMC 10/12 Google Classroom. The class code is: dfepcmy. In the classroom, you must fill out the Google Forms to reserve a space for the tests you want to take. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Brindisi in Room 265.
