COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER:
College Visits to the Career Center will start on Monday, September 16th and take place frequently until early November. Students in Grades 11 and 12 may register in Naviance to attend. These are excused absences, but students must inform their teacher in advance to ensure they can miss class. College visits are about 30-45 minutes with an admissions counselor who will give a brief presentation and take questions from students. They are very helpful in the college search process. To see the list of visits and register, go to your Naviance home screen and find the What’s New section in the bottom right corner. See Ms. Carty in the Career Center with questions.
A local supply company is looking to hire a student for clerical work such as data entry, document scanning and answering phones. Hours are flexible and the position starts at minimum wage with the opportunity to revisit after 90 days. See the notice on the Part-Time jobs board in the Career Center.
The New England Association of College Admissions Counselors will hold its Fall College Fair on Sunday, September 15th from 12-2 PM at Western New England University in Springfield, MA. For details and a list of the over 100 colleges attending, go to www.neacac.org and visit the College Fairs tab.
