The Junior Class of 2026 is hosting a fundraiser at Pokedon, 129 Deming Street, on December 18th from 5-9pm.
There are pet supply donation boxes in the Cafeteria and Annex lobby now thru December 16th. Donations will benefit Our Companions Animal Rescue in Manchester.
Attention Class of 2025: Check your Grade 12 Google Classroom to access the Google Form for letting us know the college acceptances or other opportunities you have for life after SWHS! The form is now available, and the Class of 2025 will be featured on the slideshow outside School Counseling and in our monthly newsletter. This form does not mean you have committed to anything. Check it out during Bobcat Block today and submit any offers you may have. You can keep filling out the form as you get new responses in the weeks ahead.
There are boxes collecting new and gently used sports equipment in the high school Lobby and Annex Main Entrance through December 18th. All equipment will be donated to local organizations that serve kids in need.
Hodge-Claus is coming to your lunch wave on Monday, December 16th and he’s bringing his favorite helper, Carlson the Elf. Donate $1 cash to benefit the Jimmy V Cancer Foundation and get your picture taken with these Holiday Icons.
Student Council’s Bobcat Block Door Decorating Contest starts on Monday. The Theme is: SNOW GLOBE! The decorating period is Monday through Wednesday, with doors being judged on Thursday. The winning Bobcat Block will enjoy a catered breakfast after winter break!
If your Bobcat Block is interested in participating in this contest, please have your BB teacher fill out the Google Form sent by Ms. Ullinger. This form must be filled out by today @ 3 pm!
CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:
FBLA is hosting a Holiday cookie decorating fundraiser on Monday, December 16th after school in the Annex Cafeteria. Entrance fee and first cookie is $5, every cookie after that is $3.
The Indian Heritage Awareness Club is hosting an earring fundraiser. To place an order for their handcrafted earrings, please fill out the google form, which can be found on the grade-level google classrooms and QR codes found on posters around the school. Today is the last day to order. The earrings will be delivered on December 18th during Bobcat Block. Contact Hiteshree Dirisala or Sudeeksha Sajjana with questions.
The Sexuality and Gender Alliance’s December meeting will be a Holiday Party on Monday December 16 after school in Room 129. Come by to enjoy food and a holiday movie!
Join the Jewish American Heritage Club Thursday December 19th at 2:15 in Room 105. We will decorate cookies, play dreidel, and more! Join the google classroom with code bofyc7h, or see Mrs. Rafalowsky in Room 104.
The Strategy Club will meet on Monday, after school, in Room 149A. We will do a retake of our Yearbook photo at this meeting, so anyone who wants to appear in the yearbook, please plan to attend this meeting.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER:
These upcoming visits are planned to the Career Center for students seeking an alternative to college after high school. These visits will take place during Bobcat Block, please sign up in Naviance:
On Friday, December 13th – Hartford Job Corps will be here to discuss their training programs to get young adults into the workforce quickly. On Tuesday, December 17th AWP Safety will present their career track for graduates starting as flaggers in construction and working their way to supervisory roles. On Wednesday, December 18th, the Connecticut Army National Guard will be here to discuss the Guard as a military option for students to explore.
