Attention seniors: South Windsor Administrator Association Perseverance Award and Scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating SWHS student that has overcome academic, social, or personal challenges during their 4 years of high school. The award decision will be based on a short 500 word writing prompt, extracurricular activities, and academics. The online application must be submitted and the supplemental document must be emailed by noon on June 1, 2018. Scholarship payment will be made directly to your post-secondary institution. The link is available on the school's website. 

The Freshman Class of 2021 is hosting a Movie Night tomorrow from 7:00pm – 9:00pm in the auditorium. We will be showing The Blindside and it is pajama themed. $3.00 admission, including food from Dunkin Donuts, Mexicali, Bella's, Campion's, Subway, and more. Please come out for a great night of fun. What would you do if you saw someone in need? 

Fashion Club will meet today after school in Room 7 to plan our end-of-year tie dye party. Please make every effort to attend.  

The National Honors Society is hosting an AP Book Swap from Monday, May 21 to Friday, May 25. NHS members will be present outside the cafeteria before school with a box to oversee the pick-up and drop off of your AP review books and flashcards. Please come and donate your AP books and get a new one for yourself.

Athletic News:
-All girls wanting to try out for field hockey next year need to meet in Room 152 at 2:10pm next Wednesday, May 30 for an informational meeting. If you cannot attend but plan on playing next year, please see Coach Phillips. 

-The boys’ tennis team had their final match of the regular season against Southington and were victorious with a score of 4-3. Winning in Singles were seniors Parker Pacekonis and Femi Orisamolu and junior Ronnak Saxena. Winning in doubles were juniors Dan Zhu and Jason Richenbacher. The team had a great season with a final record of 14 wins and 4 losses. On Saturday the team travels to Wilton for the State Tournament. Playing for the Bobcats in singles will be Brandon, Sze, Femi Orisamolu, Dan Zhu and Jason Richenbacher and teaming up in doubles will be Parker Pacekonis & Ronnak Saxena, Elijah Wood & Jack Perry, and Sam Kim and Donny Sauer. Best of Luck to all the players.

-Yesterday the girls’ track and field team competed in the CCC Conference Championship. Erin Dunn, Bailey Puebla, Bella Sanchez, Elizabeth Martinez, Micaela Hanson, and Missy Sullivan achieved personal records. Izzy Erikson and Shannon Anthony were all conference, coming in first in the 3200 and 2nd in the high jump.  

-The boys’ varsity volleyball team traveled to Newington Tuesday night to face them in the CCC tournament. The team fought hard in the 3-2 loss against the number three seed. The varsity team is now preparing for the upcoming Class M state tournament next week going into it with a 13-7 record. Congratulations to both the Varsity and JV players for a great regular season. The final record for JV was 17-3. Congrats again and good luck in the post season. 

-Attention members of the boys’ volleyball team who are not currently on the Varsity post-season roster. You will meet with your coach and return uniforms today, Thurs. May 24th from 2:30 to 3:45 pm in the gym. Please bring practice clothes to play some after the personal meetings. Any questions, see Coach Holt.
