Final reminder…lockers without locks on them will be bolted. If you are going to be using your locker this year, be sure lock it up by the end of the day today. Locker registration slips are due in the Main Office today as well.
The SWHS Gay-Straight Alliance will meet on Monday, September 18th in room 148 at 2pm. We will be planning activities for Ally week, and we need YOU! Did you miss the first meeting this week? That's okay! Join us! Snacks will be provided.

Please continue to check Naviance as new schools are always added. Daily reminders will be given in the Morning News. Tufts University offers students from underrepresented communities an overnight visit to campus and the opportunity to experience all facets of college life. The Voices of Tufts Diversity Experiences take place during two sessions in October – one for engineering and one for arts and sciences. If you are interested in this program, please see Mrs. Carty in the Career Center for details. Applications are due in early October.
There will be open auditions on Monday, September 25th for the award winning Spectrum Band. Auditions will be held after school from 2-4pm. Materials are posted on the wall outside the band room. Attention all students! The Fashion Club's first meeting will be Wednesday September 20th after school in Room 7. If you're interested in learning about fashion, putting on a fashion show, creating wearable art, or bringing your own ideas, this is the club for you. New members are welcome!
The admissions staffs of Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn, and Stanford will collaborate on an information session entitled "Exploring College Options" on Wednesday, September 27th at 7 p.m. in Farmington. Students interested in attending may register at www.exploringcollegeoptions.org. An informational flyer is posted on the Programs and Events bulletin board in the Career Center.
Do you love to practice yoga or have you ever wanted to try yoga? Yoga club will have its first meeting and yoga practice Monday, September 18th at 2pm the Chorus Room. All experience levels are welcome! Bring a friend and give it a try. For more information contact Ms. Lane in Room 6 or by email.

Athletic News:
-Varsity Field Hockey tied Conard 0-0 after one overtime. The team plays Wethersfield at home next Tuesday, but will rematch Conard at home on October 17th for their breast cancer awareness game. Come support the team and help raise money for breast cancer research.
-There will be an informational boys’ basketball meeting for all returning players only on Monday 9/18 at 4:00 pm in Room 102 at SWHS. Any returning players unable to attend, should contact Coach Dargati or Coach Waters.
