Attention students: All library materials are now due.  Please make sure to return any checked out items to the library.  Anything not returned will be considered missing, and you will be charged the cost of the items.  Please see Mrs. McCool if you have any questions. 

Student Council is hosting their second annual Flag Football Tournament on June 6 at 3:30 pm.  Sign-ups begin Tuesday, May 28 during lunch waves.  Cost is $10 per person.  Teams must be 7-10 players, 3 of which are girls.  Top three in the tournament will receive large prizes.  The winning team will receive championship t-shirts.  Sign up during lunch waves until June 4!

The Italian Club will have its final meeting of the year on Monday, June 10 right after school.  We will be playing bocce and eating pizza, a nice way to de-stress before finals.  Please bring $5 to Mrs. Zaccardelli in room 226.  All are welcome.

Applications are now being accepted for the Blood Drive Committee.  Do you want to help run the school's blood drives next year?  These positions are open to current Sophomores and Juniors only.  As a member of the Blood Drive Coordination Committee, you will be responsible for helping the Student Coordinator organize and run three blood drives during the next school year in November, January and March.  Applications are due by June 3.  Click here to apply: https://forms.gle/7ft3Kdpmw6SdtBMF9   If you have any questions, see Mrs. Belval in room 204.

The Peer Mental Health Educators are looking for new members!  Would you like to help your peers? We are looking for highly motivated students who are interested in participating on the Peer Mental Health Educator Committee. This group is responsible for creating and facilitating pop up programs for the school on topics related to mental health; such as managing stress, time management, myth and stigmas, sleep, tech health, and anxiety.  Peer Mental Health Educators are required to participate in 10 hours of training.  This is a CT State certification and good for 3 years. All students taking the AP U.S. History class next year are required to attend a meeting after school on Tuesday June 4 for distribution of summer work and a class overview.  The meeting will begin at 2:10 pm in the Seminar Room in the Media Center.

All students taking AP Government and Politics next year should attend a meeting after school on Wednesday, June 5 in the back of the Media Center.  Summer work will be distributed as well as course overviews.  Any questions, please see Mr. D'Amato or Mr. Garrish.

Students taking AP Psychology next year should go to the mandatory summer work meeting on Thursday, June 6 after school in room 223.  Please see Ms. Caless or Ms. Simcik if you have any questions.

All students taking AP Chemistry next year should attend a meeting on Thursday, June 6 to pick up their summer work. This meeting will take place after the AP Psychology meeting at 2:30 pm in room 223.  Any questions, please see Mrs. Powell.

Manchester Community College will hold a free information session about its Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering on Tuesday, June 4 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm.  The session will explain the Precision Manufacturing certificate which can be obtained in just six months and qualify students for entry-level positions.  Students also earn 30 credits that can be applied toward an associate degree.  For more information, visit www.manchestercc.edu/manufacturing

There will be a Young Eagles Rally at Meriden-Markham Airport on Saturday, June 9 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Visitors ages 8 to 17 will be able to take a free flight and see what real pilots do before, during and after a flight.  Bring a parent or guardian and register at the event.  A flyer is hanging in the Career Center.

Athletic News:

The Girls’ Tennis team defeated Southington Tuesday in the quarterfinals. They move on to the semi-finals TODAY at the Wapping courts at 4:00 pm.  They could really use some Bobcat Pride support as they take on Wilton and try to get to the finals on Friday.  Come on out and watch some great tennis!
