There are two new local job opportunities for students looking for part-time opportunities. The Red Cabin restaurant is looking for students who are interested in the restaurant business for weekend hours. Potential tasks include food prep, cleaning dishes, bussing tables and might lead to waiting tables. Also, there is a local company looking for snow shovelers to help clear sidewalks and apartment areas in Manchester at the rate of $17 per hour. For contact information on how to pursue either of these positions, please see the board in the Career Center.

Attention all grade 10-12 students. The ASVAB is coming to SWHS on Friday, November 22nd at 7:30 a.m. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is the Military's skill assessment test, which helps students uncover their strengths and what careers both within and outside the Military those strengths align with. This test is a free service for SWHS students. If you are interested in taking the ASVAB please sign up in the School Counseling Office.

Athletic News:

The Boys’ Soccer team traveled to Farmington on Wednesday in the 2nd round of the state tournament to take on a team that crushed them 5-1 the last time they played. The Bobcats had a great game plan and scored early from the feet of Will Bonazelli on an assist from Nick Gattuso. South Windsor held the lead until 10 mins left when Farmington scored off of a cross. The game went into 2 overtimes and then into Penalty Kicks. Unfortunately, SW came up short and was eliminated from the CT State Tournament. They finish the year with 9 wins, 7 losses, and 2 ties.

The Varsity Field Hockey team ended their season last night in the Quarter Finals against Guilford. Lady Bobcats were able to hold them 0-1 for the first half but with their speed and field placement they were able to score three more during the second half. Defense really stepped up last night and fought hard to keep the ball out of our defending circle. Lili Valente, Nicole Hunter, Chloe Kapisak, and Morgan Saylor had some great defensive saves. Our goalie, Allie Pagliaruli, had 10 plus shots taken on her and stood her ground as our last line of defense. Last night was a bittersweet end to the season but the team looks forward to what the next season will bring.
