We are excited to share that the SW Teen Center will reopen to SWHS students on Monday, September 28th! We will be open for high school students on Monday and Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. You can walk across the street to the teen center to unwind, have a snack and catch up on school work. Hey Bobcat Nation… It’s election time at SWHS! Class Officer and Student Council campaigning is beginning soon. Check the website for links to campaign posters. Check your grade’s Google Classroom for the campaign videos. Voting will be held Wednesday, September 30th.

The Common Ground Leadership Program is now accepting applications. Any student interested in improving leadership skills, community service and working on their college resume, should reach out to Mr. Orsini by email or see him in room 234A for an application. The deadline for all applications is Friday, October 2nd.

This was a great week of college visits. Thanks to all of the students who participated and asked great questions. You are strongly encouraged to turn your camera on so that the admissions representative can better connect with you. Next week’s virtual visits will be hosted by the following colleges or universities: Merrimack College, University of New Haven, Roger Williams University, Sacred Heart University, Tufts University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Rutgers University. An East Hartford warehouse and shipping company is looking for part-time help. Interested students can find information hanging in the Career Center or on our blog. The company has a training program available for workers who show potential for advanced opportunities.
