Hey Bobcats! As our national news reports on numerous social injustices and racial inequalities, we have a club right here at the high school that wants to confront complicated issues of social justice, racial identities, discrimination and bias, and the many reasons to be proud of our diverse student body. Join the Black Student Alliance as we listen to many student voices sharing deep experiences. Our first meeting is TODAY, Thursday, October 22nd at 3:30 p.m.  ALL are welcome! Use the Google meet link on google classroom. Our classroom code is: duzv4au.

Bobcat Robotics will have a team meeting TODAY. If you are interested in learning more about Bobcat Robotics join our Google classroom and attend the meeting - all students are welcome! Our team will hold meetings every Thursday during the off season from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Use the code 52ycahr to join the google classroom. Our meeting link will be in the teams Google classroom banner.

The Japanese Culture Club will meet TODAY, Thursday, October 22nd at 2:30 p.m. Google classroom code is wt4upbd.

The following virtual college visits are scheduled for the rest of this week. Students MUST register for a visit in advance through Naviance in order to receive the meeting link.

Spirit Week - Cohort Competition: For our atypical “homecoming” week, Student Council and the Bobcat Pride Organization are planning a Spirit Week for all students. We are encouraging you to dress up to find out which cohort - maroon or gold - has the best school spirit! Distance learning students are also encouraged to dress up for their Google Meets. The Spirit Days are as follows:
Maroon Cohort: Monday, October 26th is Hawaiian Day. Tuesday, October 27th is SWHS Spirit - rep our school with school colors and spirit!
Gold Cohort: Thursday, October 29th is Hawaiian Day. Friday, October 30th is SWHS Spirit - rep our school with school colors and spirit!
We look forward to seeing you dress up for Spirit Week and this friendly Cohort Competition. Feel free to send pictures masked & dressed in school spirit to the Student Council & BPO social media accounts!

For all those interested in or thinking about pursuing a career in STEM, join the Future STEM Leaders Club! Use the google classroom code: uolyb3b to join now! Our first meeting will be on October 29th at 2:00 p.m.

Respect and Change Everywhere! The R.A.C.E. Committee is looking for students interested in helping celebrate South Windsor High School’s diversity and promote positive change. If you are interested in being part of R.A.C.E. please contact Mr. Zeuschner in Admin 237 or by email by Friday, October 30th.

A unique year will make for a very unique yearbook and we need YOUR HELP! We are in need of your pictures and stories. The yearbook staff is covering the following topics right now: how you spent the summer months, the beginning of school, fashion in a hybrid schedule, SWHS clubs, the environment, human interest stories, and fall sports. When you submit a photo, your contact info is required and PLEASE put the names of the people in the picture, a brief description of the event, who took the picture, and your phone number in the “Description” area. Need help with a class? Request a FREE NHS tutor to work with you over Google Meet. To sign up, go to the NHS website on the Clubs and Activities page and complete the Google form.

ALL South Windsor students are now eligible to receive a free breakfast and a free lunch provided by the school district. Please stop by the cafeteria on your way into school for your complimentary breakfast and then at lunchtime, stop by your designated serving area to choose your complimentary meal. For distance or hybrid at-home learners, Grab & Go meals are available by the rear entrance of the school near the football field Monday to Friday between 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
