November is Native American Heritage Month. This month gives us an opportunity to reflect, honor, and celebrate our Native Americans and indigenous peoples. It is important to explore their diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and acknowledge the important contributions during November and throughout the year. Locally, “members of the First Nation, commonly known as the Podunk tribe, flourished on the banks of the Connecticut River and its interiors, in the towns now known as South Windsor (Wood Memorial Library & Museum).”

Congratulations to this school year's first group of Students of the Month. These students were nominated by their teachers for exemplifying the expectations for student learning in Academic, Civic, and Social areas. Examples of things students did to get nominated are helping their teacher with technology problems, un-muting and participating in their classes regularly, helping peers in class, and showing good leadership.
Grade 9: Mahitha Burugupalli and Logan Sherwood
Grade 10: Zachary Richard and Pranav Shankar
Grade 11: Sivani Arvapalli and Asher Robino
Grade 12: Abigail Rich and Miles Smith

Whether you’re planning to go to college, a vocational school, or the Military, or you’re just not sure what you want to do yet, the ASVAB CEP can provide you with important information about your skills and interests -- and help get you on the right path toward a satisfying career. There are only 25 seats available so seats will be first come, first serve. The test is open to all students in grades 9-12.
