The Freshmen Class of 2024 is having a fundraiser at a local sandwich shop at 1006 Sullivan Ave. on Thursday, April 8th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Curbside pickup is available! Come support the Freshmen class!

Attention SWHS! Student Council and BPO are hosting a monthly Kahoot Trivia League! The third Kahoot Trivia game will be on Thursday, April 8th at 7:00 p.m. All students are welcome to play! Beginning this week, the Teen Center’s drop in times will change for high school students. The new times are Monday and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Please contact the Teen Center Coordinator, Danielle at 860-648-6360 to reserve a spot.
 
Any student interested in running for class officer or student council officer for the 2021-2022 school year should visit the Class or Student Council Google Classroom for information. The following advisors must receive the intent-to-run information by the 2:00 p.m. this Friday:

Attention Students who were accepted into a language honor society last year, March of 2020. We are moving forward this year virtually for the induction ceremonies for French, Latin, Italian and Spanish. Letters and virtual program information will be going home in the next week with instructions. All 2020 recipients will have a virtual induction at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 22nd.

Do you have gently used sporting equipment that you no longer need? Equipment Assist collects items to donate to the Hartford Police Athletic League (PAL) which benefits underserved youth. They are collecting all types of gently used sports equipment including: cleats, sneakers, skates, baseball gloves, balls, helmets, shin guards in all sizes. A bin is located between the two showcases in the main lobby and they can pick up larger items. Collection deadline is April 24th. Do you have gently used clothes, shoes or stuffed animals that you would like to donate to a good cause? The SWHS Softball Team is collecting items for a Savers fundraiser. Junior Achievement hosts “Be a Better Leader: Careers of Service” on Wednesday, April 7th at 7:00 p.m. This webinar will focus on local non-profits, especially those focused on social justice and equality. The CT River Museum presents STEAMgirls, a free virtual event for girls who are interested in studying Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.
