Rho Kappa: The National Social Studies Honor Society is currently inviting eligible Juniors and Seniors to apply for this opportunity. The application form will be posted and shared by your Social Studies teachers in Google Classroom. Additional information can be found on the application. If you are interested, but not currently in a Social Studies class please email Mrs. Slogesky, [email protected]. The deadline for the application is Friday. September 24th
 
It's time for the 9th Grade Class of 2025 elections! Positions available are President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. For the students who would like to run for office, there will be a meeting in room 122A at 2:10 p.m. on Monday, September 20th. The candidate application form can be found on the 9th Grade Class of 2025 Google Classroom. Speeches are due to Mrs. Barrett by Monday, September 27th. Any questions, please see Mrs. Barrett in room 122A. Elections will be held on Tuesday, October 5th. 
 
Students: A friendly reminder, be sure to purchase Chromebook insurance for the 2021-2022 school year. The cost is $26 and covers accidental damage. To join the insurance program, you may pay online through My School Bucks OR make out a check for $26 to SWPS and write the student ID number, grade and "Chromebook" on the memo line and drop it off to the Main Office. Insurance is due this week!
 
Interested in leadership opportunities, service and building community? The Common Ground program is back and is seeking applicants for this upcoming Fall. This program brings dozens of schools together to build leadership, strengthen resumes, serve the community and make new friendships. All information including the schedule and online application are available on Google Classroom with join code l2g6osz. The deadline to apply is September 30th. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Orsini in room 235. 
 
CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES
Any student interested in joining the Math Team should attend our first meeting of the year TODAY, Friday, September 17th at 2:15 p.m. in the Media Center Seminar Room. If you have any questions or cannot attend the meeting, please see Mr. Brindisi in Room 265.
 
For any students interested in participating on this year's Mock Trial team, our first official meeting will take place afterschool on Monday, September 20th in room 135. If any Freshmen or newbies to the activity missed our intro to the Mock Trial meeting, our slide show was added to google classroom! If you have any questions please drop by to see Mr. Garrish in room 135. All are welcome! 
 
Interested in manufacturing, computer-aided design, computer programming, or business? If so, join the FIRST Robotics team! You will work with other team members and industry professionals to design robots for the FIRST Robotics competition. If you are interested in joining our team, please join the Google Classroom with the following code ni4tgmg. There will also be an informational meeting in Room 11 on Tuesday, September 21st after school at 2:00 p.m. New and returning members are all welcome. Attention all students! Are you interested in getting more volunteer hours? Develop leadership skills and connect back to the community? Interact Club is starting up again for the year! An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, September 23rd from 2:00 - 2:30 p.m. in the Media Center Classroom! We will also be revealing our new classroom code for the school year! If you have any questions, please see an Interact officer or Mrs. Howard in room 134.
 
Interested in gaining confidence and communication skills? Join the Debate Club! Our first meeting will be on Friday, September 24th afterschool in room 250. No prior experience is required, if interested please stop by! Contact Ms. Howard (chemistry teacher) with any questions.
 
The Italian Club will have its first meeting on Monday, September 27th right after school in room 226. We will be talking about executive board positions at this meeting. Please join our Google Classroom using code: ivv437m. See Mr. Orsini or Mrs. Zaccardelli with any questions.
